There's a new Painkiller coming out, this one is titled Resurrection, by another different developer than the first two. In it you play a secret service agent, blown to bits by his own trap bomb, along with a bus full of civillians, so you end up in purgatory, where you kill demons. There's a video
here
, which shows a number of weapons from the original Painkiller, and also one from Overdose... We'll just ignore that one, alright? I think it could be pretty good. Do you?
And then there is
Dreamkiller
. From that trailer, it looked like an interesting game. I was expecting some sort of surreal adventure game, maybe a more serious Psychonauts from a first-person perspective. And then the trailer reaches 0:57... Huh?

That Painkiller vid doesn't look like anything beyond spliced-up footage from teh first two games.

I played Painkiller, the expansion and the sequel. If another one comes out I will play that as well.

Okay, I just played the demo of the new Painkiller. You know how Overdose made a good effort but didn't quite nail it like the previous one? Well, Resurrection just misses the point completely. You know what? Every time a new Painkiller comes out, I'll just replay the first one and get a better experience.

What about Dreamkiller? That's the one I'm looking at. I haven't really talked to anyone who has played it yet.

Apparently it tries really hard to be Painkiller, but doesn't do a very good job of it. I haven't tried it myself, though.

From what I read, Dreamkiller seems like it tried to be the movie
The Cell
only Jennifer Lopez has guns.
Painkiller was so kickass, though. Juggling baddies with the titular weapon while they vomited forth golden relics, Fighting enemies who are so large that you can barely make out their heads, Earning those damned cards.
But Overdose... The carnival level. GOD DAMN the carnival level.
