I've seen Ladyhawk! From what I remember (it was a while ago), they were very good! Assuming this is the Ladyhawk that is on Jagjaguar and not the lady musician who is also known by that name but by all accounts is also very good.

I'm finalllllly gonna get to see Okkervil River in September. Woo!

Damn you. I've been dying to see Okkervil River since I heard them, but as I'm almost sure I mentioned somewhere else, it seems all these (inter)nationally popular Austin bands only come home for the big festivals (ACL and SXSW), when I'm off at school or whatever. This has made it difficult to see quite a few bands I like.

I'm considering going to an apocalyptica concert, early august. I would be thinking about the Melvins as well, but I am going to be otherwise occupied when they are in town.

I think I'm going to go see Judas Priest.

Unfortunately, Cavalera Conspiracy are opening. This makes me sad.

I'm also going to see Priest!

The same band is opening. : (

You'd think that of all bands, Priest could choose a wicked opener. But I suppose, in the end, they don't choose as much as the record execs do.

This may or may not be awesome:

Thor Axe opening for So Many Dynamos tonight at the Stagger Inn in Edwardsville, Il.

Dynamos are doing a Weezer tribute set. In a hippy bar. I'm gonna drink newcastles and make fun of dreadlock'd dudes bitching about the music.

warped tour. very soon. I'm seeing nofx in new England later this year. Seeing less than jake + goldfinger on the shout it loud tour. those are the ones Im excited for the most.

Meh. There were only three bands on the whole of Warped this year I was excited about. And I'm not going to stand around all day to see three bands. I can see Street Dogs some other time, and I've already seen the Aggrolites when they opened for Dropkick Murphys last March. And Against Me!..eh. I guess I can deal without seeing them.

That said, I bought a pair of tickets for Sigur Ros yesterday! I have from now until September to find a cute ladyfriend to go with.

So yeah, if all goes well today I will see Mission of Burma tonight. I'm not that familiar with their stuff but I'm excited anyway since I hear they always put on a great show.

Also, Yndi Halda really needs to announce a DC show. I really want to see them in August.

So MBV were awesome as expected. I've been to loud gigs before but the louds bits of this one made the room shake, let alone your clothes.

I proudly stood and soaked in "the holocaust" without the earplugs that were handed out. Was left with a strange feeling where I wanted to listen to radio static on the drive home.

I went to the Splatterball last night, which I didn't think was going to be as awesome as it was, and discovered this awesome industrial band from Tokyo called Baal. They were really fucking awesome and they put on such an amazing show. My mind is still blown. Angelspit were ok but I think they could have been a little tighter, though given that the equipment at the Gaelic Club is pretty fucking terrible I'm not surprised that things kept fucking up for them.

Ooh I saw Malajube live at Celebrate Brooklyn last year after being into their studio albums for a while. They were terrific.

Their frontman is really shy and it's endearing.

Yesssss.

I was this close to scoring backstage passes for their New York show, as my lady friend works for EMI. But then they had to do a stupid thing like leave/get kicked off of their label.

I'm excited about the Trinumeral Music and Arts Festival 8/8/08 this year.  They're doing 3 days in Deerfields near Asheville, NC.  Got this line up off their website: http://www.trinumeral.com

Galactic (featuring Boots Riley of the Coup), Particle, Lotus, GZA/Genius, EOTO with Michael Kang (of String Cheese Incident), Midnite, Kaki King, Danny Bedrosian & Secret Army (of Parliament Funkadelic), The Mahavishnu Project, DJ Le Spam (of Spam All-Stars), Telepath, The Afromotive, Dubconscious, Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, Stephanie's Id, SeepeopleS featuring Matt McDonald (formerly of Perpetual Groove), Laura Reed and Deep Pocket, Snake Oil Medicine Show, Custard Pie, Jar-e, Scott Huckabay, Granola Funk Express (GFE), Junc Ops, Hope Massive, Sci Fi, The Mantras, The New Familiars, Josh Blake & The Money Band, Eulipion Ensemble, Incognito Mosquito,  Gavin McGowen, Eymarel, Entropy, The Jean Marie, Kung Fu Dynamite, Art Vandalay, The Malah, Crystal Kind, Crank County Daredevils, DJs Bowie, Par, Brettrock, Faux Real, Kool Large,  Focus, & Triz.

They also got just as much art and crazy performers as they do bands.  There's some dude who builds giant sandcastles!
Anyone else see some goodness?  I am so gonna be there!
