Too bad, Mudhoney are fantastic live. They usually start their shows with a cover of This.

Sometimes they even throw in a Black Flag cover!

it's our first real show since we played at a punk pizza place on April 20th, so i'm really excited+nervous. we're getting this band called Metal Bunnies and also Dethhole(drummer's old noisy metal band, with songs such as "meat salad" and "22 dead inside mcdonald's", which made a woman walk out of a show of theirs giving them the finger). i'm pretty stoked to say the least.

Oh god The Books was so absolutely perfect.  They played almost all new material (except for Take Time and That Right Ain't Shit) and all of it was super amazing and beautiful and THE VIDEOS MAN THE VIDEOS were at different times interesting and beautiful and quirky and trippy and really sad and hilarious and then the last song they played (think it was called "The Owls with Knees") basically put all those elements into one and asdlfkj;aldgkj;lkj;qepwoiu

^ This is literally exactly what I thought when I saw them earlier this year. Most of the new material is from the "Lost and Safe" album, but they did play a bunch of new ones from the unreleased album as well.

Yeah Owls was the only one from Lost and Safe they played I think.  Lemme see if I can remember the unreleased songs....

"Meditation"
"Group Therapy" (this one was really good)
"We Bought the Flood" (this one was saaaaaaaaaaaaaad)
There was one with a lot of goose calls in it that was funny.
There was another one that featured the Talkboy that was actually really disturbing but also funny.
There was another song that I don't remember with a bunch of video loops in the background.

But yeah the videos were beautifully synchronised and I don't think I've been to a better concert, ever.

The one with the talkboy was "A Cold and Freezing Night", that was the one with the little kids talking about killing if I remember correctly.
I know one of them was called "Classy Penguin", which was awesome. I recognize the other named ones, just not the other 2 you couldn't remember.

Fucking hell just found about tours from Converge w/ Genghis Tron, Phoenix, and Between the Buried and Me in March.

So this is my lineup for the next few months, (off the top of my head)

Karnivool 11/12
Fleetwood Mac 12/12
Tim Minchin 16/12
Southbound Festival 8/1-10/1
Big Day Out 31/1
Dirty Three play Ocean Songs 11/2
Soundwave Fest 1/3
Phoenix 6/3
Converge 16/3
Between the Buried and Me 24/3

I'm sure there's other stuff I'm not even thinking of right now, as well. All this from someone who is attempting to save money. Gahhh

So I have a few things to look forward to in the coming months (Pixies, Future of the Left, Soundwave, Laneway) but Saturday was pretty cool. It wasn't a show per say, but Jarvis Cocker DJed at a new club (run by people whose clubs we've been going to for years now) and it was a damn good night.
