So I saw this the other day, and was immediately inspired. It's a guitar whose body is built (almost) entirely from Lego.

It's not gunna be identical to that one, but it will be similar. Anyway, I opened a blog dedicated to it, which I think you should look at. Leave a comment (you don't have to be a member), or send me an email if you've got something to say.

Blog is here: http://thelegoguitar.wordpress.com.

I'm currently in need of some parts, go to the blog to see which ones, and if you can help me.

Thanks!

Are you making it into an art piece or planning on playing it?

Legos don't make for nice tone i would think...

edit: and if you ever do play it, DONT DROP IT. There would be nothing worst than hearing a story on reddit about someones lego guitar shattering into a million pieces and taking out the audience's vision in the process...

Yeah, I do intend to make it playable, but I won't be playing it often. So, yes it is art, yes it is playable.

And lol, I'm aware that it won't sound good, but that doesn't bother me, I have other guitars.

Yeah, I do intend to use glue, as well as a big plank of wood to hold the bridge to the neck. I'll post diagrams in the blog when I get around to it. Also, I'm not familiar with Sticklebricks. Can you get them in Australia?

A guitar made totally from Lego wouldn't work too well, if at all. But when it's done, it will be MOSTLY from Lego.

Lego needs to make little rock guitars for their mini-figures. A "Lego rock band" set system is long overdue.

You know, it may actually sound "OK" if you use active pickups on it, like EMG's. I personally hate them, but, from what I've heard, they sound the same, no matter what you put them on. Apparently, George Lynch's guitar tech in the 80's famously said you could mount EMG's to a fish tank with strings on it and it would sound the same as on a Les Paul.

I've seen one of these, the person that played it did a pretty good job too.
