Bought today:

Discovery - LP
Michael Franti & Spearhead - Yell Fire!

I've been wanting to buy that Michael Franti album since it came out (I've listened to it enough times, good lord) but never got around to it until now. Woo!

Elvis Costello - This Year's Model
Bassmatic - Homesikh Blues / Le Mystère Djorkaeff

and a couple of things I pulled out of the five dollar deep house bin without bothering to listen to, about 50 50 in terms of quality.

Jodie the record fair is in a month, we should make plans, I am so much more dependable for hanging out when records are involved.

Huh? Remastered from what? I thought the album just came out this year. Was this released a while ago and just re-released or something?

The initial run of the CD is what's been floating around the internet. It ran out of print and was picked up and remastered by Frenchkiss Records, and released on August 18th. That's the copy I bought.

So I went to see Faith No More and Dinosaur Jr live last night and all of the other records in the merch stand were too expensive:

So today there was a review of the new Jay-Z album in Mx that was so bad it made me want to throw up and die. The only thing I could do to stop myself from exploding with rage and getting on the six oclock news was to go out and spend all my money on records so I went to my local spray paint store and bought these.

I have been repping the Headbanger 12" so hard lately it is ridiculous I don't own this album

this is officially the first battle record I have ever bought. I think I made a good choice based on the cover art alone, which if you can't see well enough features DJ Craze dressed up like crazy French Aristocracy just being a dick

this is a 12" by a band I have never heard of, but they basically had me sold on the art work and it turns out they are pretty good rappers as well! Unfortunately whatever douche imported this into Australia stored it really badly so it almost a cone shape. It still plays fine but is completely useless for scratching and mixing at the moment. However I am going to get some glass and flatten it out when I can be fucked. Apparently people do this all the time!

The last record I bought was a Dilated Peoples 12" with a few really sick tracks and instrumentals on it that I am going to put to good use but I can't be fucked finding a photo of it because the cover artwork is essentially just a reproduction of the sleeve with the record in it so it's really not that interesting.

The last cds I bought were this ones:

Kent - Isola [Rock/Pop]

Kent - Hagnesta Hill [Rock/Pop]

Khanate - Things Viral [Drone Metal]

Mar De Grises - Draining The Waterheart [Doom Metal]

Asphyx - The Rack [Death Metal with some Doom influences]

Asphyx - Last Man On Earth [Death Metal with some Doom influences]

And yeah, all of them were worth the money...

Last thing I bought was Colour Haze's s/t.  It cost a a bit more than twice what I'd normally find acceptable for a cd, but it's awesome, and the album art is beautiful as well.

i went to birmingham for a few days to see some awesome friends and awesome bands (Wildhearts and Paint It Black).  and also to buy a shitload of CDs:

The Tim Version - "Decline of the Southern Gentleman"
Paint It Black - "New Lexicon"
Every Time I Die - "New Junk Aesthetic" (bonus tracks+dvd version)
*Biffy Clyro - "That Golden Rule" (single)
RX Bandits - "Mandala"
Johnny Foreigner - "Waited Up Til It Was Light"
Ginger - "The Great White Monkey: Live at Rugeley Rose Theatre"
65daysofstatic - "Hole" E.P.
Chuck Ragan - "Gold Country"
And So I Watch You From Afar - "And So I Watch You From Afar"
Marmaduke Duke - "The Magnificent Duke"
Castevet - "Summer Fences"
Frank Turner - "Poetry of the Deed"
Thrice - "Beggars"

*incidentally, if anyone has the itunes-only b-sides "eye lids" and "time jazz" and would be so kind as to send them to me, i'd do a backflip into a pool of custard with sheer joy (and send some cool shit in return...)

Dischord is seriously the best record label.  I just bought Q and Not U's "No Kill No Beep Beep" on vinyl, but with every vinyl purchase you get the album in mp3 form free.  I also bought (and currently am listening to) Bluetip's "Join Us".  And I finally bought Fugazi's "Instrument" on DVD.  I am so looking forward to watching that.

so yeah in response to my last post.

This is a 12" by Drowning with our Anchors, called You Can Never Go Home Again. I guess its like early 90's emo, i hear them called a cross between Still Life and Policy of Three a lot, which seems pretty apt.

Kidcrash/L'Antitem HEAVY NUGS AND HEADY CHUGS YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

love the kidcrash side, but im honestly not all about the l'antitem side. i dunno i've never really been able to get into them. not my thing i guess. its cool though the kidcrash side is so worth it.

just got the cd of "who killed amanda palmer?" by amanda palmer, it arrived in the post today - REALLLLLLY good album!  not sure why i'm surprised, as she's always been a hell of a songwriter, but all the talk of this album being "dresden dolls c-sides" and "overfilled with ballads" kinda put me off.  glad i finally got around to getting it!

also waiting on the following in the post:

the swellers - ups and downsizing
love you moon - waxwane (solo album by matt embree from rx bandits)
city of ships - look what god did to us

Just ordered this shit right here

http://cosmichearse.blogspot.com/2009/09/pandiscordian-necrogenesis.html

Honestly I'm surprised I was able to order it, it was limited to 88 copies.

Got it here

http://www.aquariusrecords.org/cat/p4.html

The only truly ONE MAN black metal band. As in he plays the instruments at THE SAME TIME. I guess each case is smeared in real blood, so yeah, kvlt.

When it gets here I'll post pics.
