^ Been listening to this all day. It's aces.

Saturdays=Youth

I've met the girl in the fur hat. She's friends with a bunch of my friends who hang out Anthony Gonzales.

i've never understood why any musician, when given the opportunity to display artwork either by themselves or by another artist on their album sleeve, would opt for a plain and boring cover.  not only is it a waste of potential, but it's also gonna be much less eye-catching, so it'll hardly work in their favour.

Actually I really like those Bedhead covers and think they're pretty eye-catching as opposed to some of the gaudy shit people do (see: Black Moth Super Rainbow artwork, the atrocity that is Mika's Life In Cartoon Motion)

How has no one mentioned Spiritualized yet? Though I guess that's not so much artwork as amazing and incredibly creative album packaging.

meh, i actually like that Mika cover.  maybe it's the kid in me - i was hyperactive with certain colours as a child.

weirdly, another one i really like is this:

i dunno what it is about it, but it's such a grim looking cover, and yet reflects the mood of the album so well.  it's also one of the best melodic rock albums of the 90s, and definitely worth checking out if you haven't heard it.

Baby Dulli over here is dealin' with some shit you wouldn't believe, man.

It's strange to see a little kid with a look like that on his face, though. They probably just told him that his dad got rid of all his dinky cars or something, but he just looks like he is buried underneath a pile of regrets.

Deadsy made important music.
Michael, I've thought for years that the kids on that cover were the best actors of our time. Genuinely great. At the same time, I'm not sure I like it, it makes me feel uncomfortable. Basically, it perfectly suits the album.

Man I am on standard cable wi-fi and I have never had an issue with slow loading images, not even in the pointless thread. But edwinalink I may have to ask you to resize those a bit.

i'm betting edwinalink has the suicide girls site bookmarked!

you know, I've never actually been there! even after emilie autumn put the phrase "so that everybody thinks that I'm a fucking suicide girl..." in a song, still i have not checked it out... i figure why go there when i can get it off Deviant Art for free!

Deadsy made important music.

yeah, deadsy mattered, deadsy's gone! but they mattered... I know its shite, but somehow i feel that is kind of the point!

and... i have no idea what happened with the sizes, when i uploaded them they were all 300x300... I MADE them that way in paint.net!

I had an odd moment a while back when I really liked the covers of some of the Decemberists albums (the music, take it or leave it.. I still don't know it terribly well).  For example:

So I dug around a bit for the artist, etc... -- Carson Ellis -- and eventually realized that she'd gone to high school with me.  Huh.  Same class year and everything.

Cool artwork, anyway.

I love the artwork for industrial and post-industrial bands (surprise surprise)

Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio - Cocktails, Carnage, Crucifixion and Pornography

Death in June - Abandon Tracks!

Laibach - Sympathy For the Devil (have this on Vinyl, so excellent)

Coil - Horse Rotorvator

The text reads:

"On the Eve of the Apocalypse - (the air choked with horsehair) - the Four Horsemen betray their steeds - slitting open the animal throats - and in doing so release the Second Great Deluge - Horsegore - Infinite Divisibles Split - an infinity of open sewers - the Four then fashion an immense earthmoving device from the collective jawbones - The Horse Rotorvator - with which to plough up the waiting world - (ROTA turns through 180° to TARO) - wheels replace horses - Dark Horses Run - Dark Horses Run Deep - and Hell is paved with horseflesh... (we plough the fields and scatter Our Dead Steeds on the land)".

A digital drink of your choice for posting that one...  wink
When I first discovered them and I was already interested because of the Moby Dick lyrics, butwhen I saw the artwork I was speechless... and the music is even more jaw-dropping.

Here's some of my all time favorites:

Esoteric - The Maniacal Vale [A really good album... The music is as Psychedelic, crushing and "warm" as the picture]

Pig Destroyer - Phantom Limb [I never thought a Grindcore album could look like this]

I'm a sucker for typography. Downloaded this in the mediaf!re thread just for the art...glad I did, good album. Kudos to whoever uploaded it.

Same as Adventure, downloaded it in the mediaf!re thread for the art, great album.

i am a fan of the time to pretend album art, but i can't say it led to me listening to mgmt. but i saw it and i thought "wow this is very appropriate."

and although most posters seem to be indie music fans predominately, i have to sing my praises for most of cradle of filth's album art. it kind of all ties together all the albums, and it is always appropriate for their music. cruelty and the beast may be my favorite.

For example, I saw this on vinyl for a dollar:
