Ok, its not quite "that" art most people do at home, but my hobby is to build things for theatres and Larp-Locations.

I am working mostly with Wood, Polyurethane, Polyethylene-Foam, Styrofoam, Resin and fiberglass. Oh, and lots of paint.

The best i am in building "Ruins", "Walls", Decoration-Elements or else things...

A 10 m Dragon Set. This was a shot done during a "Test-Explosion". The complete set is not cleaned up, building parts lying all around... but you get the impression... The fire was done with lycopodium seed (dust explosions)

For that i was part of a team, crafting up a mediaval fantasy tavern.

Having fun with a foam shark my friends and i crafted for a pirate party. Raw model, first build stage (without any "detail work" yet done).

  Will do. Thats the best on that hobby: Seeing something "grow". I dont have that when i am on my 9-5 Job sitting in front of a computer screen.

  Thanks. But lets face it, i am only doing it as a hobby and when i look at my friends and other team-members of the building crew who do it for a living, i rate myself only as an apprentice level. I am good... but when it comes to costumes and such... well, sometimes i am awestruck myself when one of the troop does some overhours...

The main problem with this hobby is: Creativity and love to details are always stopped by the exploding costs of materials and tools you need. *sniiiiiiff*

Ah today, the best news in the world. F*** we got a fat load of sponsors now... YEEEEHAW. Means: Being creative, building more things and for the heck of it... Larry Elmore himself makes us the t-shirts...using a design of us. We hit Jackpot... and while the "ordered" things dry and the resin gets hard... i can use all leftover stuff to do my own shit... "creative" order-lists for stuff... here i come.

Hey, I have friends in theater and LARPs.  I've been interested in the hobby for a while now.  Even if you are at the starting level, your work is pretty cool.  And it blows anything I can do out of the water.  It is annoying not to have enough time for your art, but at least you're doing something.
