I think all the puns in this thread gave me cancer.

Anyway, Jeph really does enjoy saying "WOO."

Being married is only awesome for the first 5 years.

We've got 4 more years of good QC before every strip turns into Married With Children-esque stuff.

Mine lasted considerably longer, although the first kid did show up in year 5.

Keep in mind that kids provide endless comedic fodder.  Sort of like Pintsize, but without the intentionally evil aspects.  Or the horse porn.

Weren't Meenah and that guy she married trying for kids?  Although in QC time she'd syill be in the "nesting" stage of pregnancy... that's pretty funny too, when it's not your partner...

Tim-tams are pretty much the best thing ever (apart from QC). The problem is that they are all we have in the way of delicious junk food not really copied well anywhere else. I would kill for just half the stuff I saw in Europe or America. Like mini dickmanns... oh yum!

Actually, it was 1237. See newspost:

Yeah, well, I didn't want to link to a guest comic, since those are often less memorable in terms of context (since they're not related to the storyline), and since we were talking about whether another forum poster had been here for more or less than a year rather than the exact "one year ago today" (and therefore the goal was to see if they remembered the arc that comic was in being before or after they joined the forums), there you go.

I was astounded by Wil in that first panel. Being that skinny, even in-comic, cannot be healthy!

Concerning Faye here, I thought she looked much larger than we've typically seen her, even with the coat on. It looks more like a denim coat to me, and typically those are designed to be a bit more fitted, so it would seem odd (to me) for the coat to make her look bigger.

"cops" should be prefaced with "The term", to avoid the sentence structure ambiguity of having a plural referenced in the singular.

Is it odd the thumb-limbs aren't creeping me out? They're interesting, and I imagine insanely difficult to draw, but not gross to me, for some reason.

Also... the leaps and bounds in the artwork is amazing. I keep looking back at strips from the past, and being amazed how much Jeph has grown. Kudos, dude!

Now, see, in the case of ID4, we don't know what the aliens were after, so there could be any number of explanations for why they didn't just bombard us. Maybe they wanted the planet or something on it intact. Maybe they were testing weaponry on us. Maybe they were hunting us for sport, or just wanted to be up close and personal whilst they crushed us like bugs. Maybe they had some kind of code of honor or religious restriction from using orbital weaponry.

It's actually quite likely their crazy space-lasers just don't work at orbital distances; that's a lot of atmosphere for a beam to diffuse through. And possibly they'd consider rocks to crude and inaccurate.

I mean, there was clearly a coherent plan there; wipe out the majority of the population and industrial infrastructure whilst leaving the rest of the atmosphere relatively intact. It looks more like an "invade and enslave" gig than straight up genocide.
