Oh hilarity! The last few comics have been ones of the best ever.

Nice to see Faye resort to mind games instead of punching, it's so much meaner. And Marten's dad had it coming  evil

Henry has been the husband of Veronica, and they are still good friends (and had been before their marriage). Surely he has some training, even if, not being a natural, he can be slow on the uptake when caught off-guard.

Funny, though the punchline was predictable.  That's okay; I'm still floating on the awesomeness of yesterday's.

Also, I have Marigold's NERV bag, and that makes up for a lot. Wink

Also, is that a Totoro hat?    smiley

Oh... hurray for going to the Convention. Just returned myself from one of the biggest there is... "Spiel & Comic 09 @ Messe Essen". 245.000 european NERDS of all ages... 5000 new games presented... Yep. Greasy Nerds and people hitting themselves with foam swords (that i sold). Its just about that. And the old rule applies: The difference between a young and a grown up Nerd or Dork is the price of the things they play with.

PS: While we are talking about it: Yay for Granny Gaming Nerds. Is there anything cooler if you are a kid?

Am i the only one who's reminded of that scene from Blues Brothers? "We have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigerettes, its dark, and were wearing sunglasses" - "Hit it!" (or some such, the sentiment is there, even if the literal acuracy isn't).

I love all the details.  I saw Marigold's bag and went "I know that bag!"  I don't know what it is, but I'm sure one of my friends has it, as it's stamped into my brain.  I showed my best friend and she appreciated the Dir en grey shirt.

Fixed it (The Blues Brothers is one of my favourite movies)

How else could Faye have played with Henry's mind?

WAlked out with a packed bag with a "Let's go Honey."  12 (24%)
Given Maurice a long and soulful kiss with a "Thanks for everything"  19 (38%)
Put her arm on Dora's and/or Hanners shoulders and said "We had a wonderful evening."  8 (16%)
However else Jeph might have wanted to.  11 (22%)

Hm. Neither of them really has the build for it, though Hanners might definitely have the right attitude if you told her the swords were for killing messy things.
However, you wouldn't have much in the way of survivors from "The Great Con Massacre" if you did that and gave her actual weapons...

Or is she inside the apartment and talking to Marigold outside of the door to her room?

I kind of worry for Hannelore, there is the stereotype of the sweaty unwashed nerd, combine that with the sheer crush of people and some of the more...bizarre anime and the poor lady might very well have a panic attack.

I only really watched anime in high school and very little.  usually it was cowboy bebop (greatest of them all!), DBZ (lay off me), tenchi muyo and universe (sorry not a fan of any of the others), any UC gundam (zeon and feddy wars), outlaw star, and some trigun.

In my opinion, Evangelion is not worth the time spent to watch it. It's regarded as a standard by many, but the characters are very shallow and the plot never seems to advance.

My entry into the world of anime was Ranma 1/2, which is campy and a bit sappy at times, but does contain a larger variety amongst the cast of characters. you'll find that the vast majority of anime series are fairly formulaic. This means that if you find a formula you really enjoy, there will always be something great for you to watch!

My favorites are [in no particular order]: Spirited Away, Time of EVE, the first 2 ep's of FLCL, the Read or Die movie, and Bamboo Blade. I really find that the first 1 - 3 episodes of a series are the best that series will have to offer; maybe that's because those are the beneficiary of all of the pitch work done to get the show sponsored and picked up by a network. After they are shown, the production houses rush to complete the projects ASAP.

There's a bunch of stuff on Netflix that rotates from month to month [watched all of Mezzo on there recently], and crunchyroll.com streams shows that aren't commercially available in the states [and therefore they are not breaking any copyright laws to do so]. Go there and watch Time of EVE now!
