I think Angus just wants to see Ninja Assassin, and it is pretty lame to see a movie by yourself sometimes.

I think the greater possibility is that Marigold and/or Faye will misinterpret Angus' intentions in inviting Marigold to the movie, and he'll have to explain that it really was a just-friends thing.  Remember, Angus likes Faye's snarkiness.  I think that this arc might serve as a wake-up call to Faye, making her realize that she does really like him and may indeed want to pursue something.  If nothing else, I think it might be a segue into Angus confessing how he feels about Faye.

And you think Faye will actually admit to this? She's not that 'better.'

Oh, and welcome to the nuthouse, Malsies. Pull up a couch, snuggle into your padded restraints, and enjoy.

I respectfully disagree.  Remember, he asked Faye first.  Now, Marigold may get the wrong idea about his intentions (now that he's helping her get out more and be social, trying to improve her self image, etc.), but I think he's enough of a gentleman not to string her along once he realizes what's going on.

Of courses, as a guy, he's going to realize what's going on way too late, and much hilarity will ensue...

You state this as if it is a fact.
This confuses me.
I thought it was obvious that Angus and Raven would hook up.
Marigold needs to be single for Hannelore.
Faye patches things up with Sven.

Marigold is vulnerable. A boyfriend could wind up taking advantage of her low self-esteem even if he didn't consciously mean to. A Relationship for Marigeek is not something to root for unless it's a very honorable and aware man, or unless she builds a foundation for it first.

Even with low self steem she prefers loneliness to be used or make a fool of herself (read the pictures episode).

I think she is more suceptible to get a broken hearth but not get used.

I actually found the religious debate (even with Killbot's shitdickery) interesting. I skipped over the comic discussion to get back to the religion talk, and kinda wished three were other people arguing Killbot's side, and actually giving proper arguments rather than loony paranoia shit. I think that the chats on the Ustream are much worse than that, all the "who do you think has bigger boobs, Faye or Marigold? lawl" and "I think Faye is getting prettier" and "OMG I LUV HANNERS" shit.

That is probably why I stay out of this section and stick to Discuss, even if it makes me angry, it at least has proper arguments. This section just makes me angry because people are so creepy.

But for religious talk, how about Atheist Penelope?  I only followed for a few pages, it didn't interest me, but it may be more your cup of tea.

True, BUT:
1. Angus has thus far proven himself to be a pretty stand-up dude.
2. He is nothing but nice to her, and would obviously not take advantage of her in any way, be it intentional or not.
3. They already have a foundation built (obviously by the way they joke around and are clearly comfortable around one another).
4. Marigold is ready for a boyfriend. She's only slightly socially awkward, and she's growing past that at quite a rate (the last arc [and current one] show that).
5. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE TOGETHER.

See, MrMonk? Just watch these idiots people go! Whee!

The problem, I think, is standards. What you fail to grasp is that there are, within the limits of the rules, virtually none. So "I really, really want to," or even "I don't actually want to, but will anyway," is more than enough reason to post.

This is an interesting concept... I do think Angus and Marigold are pretty cute together. I don't suspect it will happen though. It doesn't seem that interesting, even if it is delightful. But another love triangle forming is a very dramatic and interesting concept. Faye, interested but unsure of someone like Angus... Angus dealing with the conflict of 'friend' and 'object of desire'... and Marigold stepping forward into the realm of social danger- putting herself, perhaps, on the line to finally have a special someone. Considering the last triangle lasted for about 500 comics, I don't see this being resolved any time soon.

Man, this Marigold stuff is like crack. I want my fix, damn it!

Faye and Angus wouldn't work together anyway.  The only reason Faye would go out with Angus is to use him as practice for having normal relationships so she could act normally later for a guy she's more compatible.  (Which would be using him.)

Being nice has nothing to do with any problems he may have with dating.

Never said it did.  It's not the dating that's the problem!

Nice guys get used more often, that's all.  "Sure, I can help you with that.  No problem!"

Not-nice guys don't, because they're -- well, they're not nice enough to let someone walk all over them.

Before anyone starts, I'm not saying nice = doormat.  It just makes it more likely, that's all.

I don't think it's fair to say nice has nothing to do with the problems Angus has dating. Carl has a point. It may not be the source of all of his problems, but it could certainly contribute to them. Case in point, someone less nice might have gotten shut of his last disaster sooner.

It might be a problem for Faye, anyway, who, as I've said before, is, consciously or not, looking for ways to insure her relationships fail. A test of whether she's really changed will be if she's stopped that.
