I recommend you download some of these guys stuff:

My personal favourites are  'Beachcomber' and 'Destructiv/Productiv'.

Seriously - they're now defunct but they're worth it.

I'll check it out... give me a bit to download a few tracks.

Edit:  Ok, got a little sampling here.  I tried Beachcomber first...  and my mind basically went:  "Blech... I think I'm gonna be sick!"  That one is perhaps an aquired taste.  I've really enjoyed their analogue/ambient  works though, in particular this track "Golden Beads".  It's pleasingly haunting and conjures up great imagery.

Beachcomber does get under your skin.  I know it sounds a little off, a little like biting on tinfoil.  But it crescendos into a really beautiful melody.  The little melody on the keys at the end is sweet.

They are a weird and strange band.

They have the same effect on me as Boards of Canada in that they are simulatenously comforting and disconcerting to listen to.  I'm really loving their ambient works though.  They have an unusually "still" sound...  I'm used to very bombastic electronica like Aphex Twin, so it's a nice change of pace.  Their songs all bring to mind really amazing imagery as well, which is one of the things I like most about music in general.  The only thing I don't really like is when the guy decides to sing =/.
