Or just a limited record whore. I read the top 5 of 2004 thread and went to look in my record box to see which stuff I bought this year was actually from 2004. All the 2004 releases I had and liked a lot were either limited experimental vinyl or handmade type CD-Rs. Here are the culprits I can remember. Only 2 2004 releases were pressed CDs. Current 93's Halo (is OK) and No Doctors ERP Saints (is awesome). On the other hand I bought and enjoyed all of these.

Growing-The soul of the rainbow and the harmony of light 2LP (animal disguise)
Wolf Eyes-Lost Sockets 10" (C.I.P)
Hair Police-Rattlers echo 3" CM CD-R (Chrondritic sound)
Mouthus-Loam LP (Ecstatic Peace!)
Gang Wizard-Jeckyl Loves Hyde LP (Ecstatic Peace!)
Burning Star Core-Physical Culture 3" CD-R (Chrondritic Sound)
Yellow Swans-Live in the police state capitol 1-sided LP (Weird Forest)
Antennas Erupt!-Magical Energy LP (SS)
Hair Police-Obedience Cuts LP (Gods of Tundra)
Yellow Swans-Live summer 04 untitled CD-R (SNSE)

To my defence I did buy plenty of conventional music, it was just old or obsure (Wolfgang Press? Medicine? Okkervil River? Comsat Angels?, anyone?). Also I don't own a single merzbow recording. I also feel odd for finding the fiery furnaces uninteresting and I only started to like the arcade fire after I saw them live. On an unrelated note I really hope I get Pan Sonic's Kesto for christmas.

tommydski, perhaps that was a little harsh, but still, that reply was fvcking hilarious.  I actually did laugh out loud when I read it.
