I've just reorganised the wallpaper gallery a bit. The good side is, it's much better laid out now. I've made sub-gallerys for each different wallpaper, as long as we've got it in more than 2 resolutions.. I haven't changed the actual URL of the gallery itself because people might have it bookmarked, etc. Now the "qcuser" account (password: jephrocks) has access to the root QC wallpaper gallery. The bad side is, especially for Duchess Tropica and others - I'm afraid you'll have to edit a few of your posts to change a couple of url's for some images and links etc. -Hope everyone likes the new layout and the way I've done it. If anyone's got any comments, don't hesitate to ask. Cheers and hope everyone had a good christmas! |

I whipped it up so it could have been better, not to mention making such a small pic to 1900X1200 meant some Photoshop trickery to make it less blurry but there's some loss in quality. Here's the one I made for myself of the finest lass on all QC, Dora, looking taken aback (cute!) from comic 237 in her more girly (for her) attire.  Remember if you click the pic above you'll be downloading a 1900X1200 image, and it's a TIF because in OS X it renders better on screen than a crummy JPG. |

IW: It's all about the Compressed PNG for line drawings !!!! Actually TIF is less lossless if you can use it, bigger, but less lossless (redundant?). Now if Jeph used Illustrator and not Photoshop we'd REALLY be talking lossless! |

Not everyone has broadband  Also with the 270,000 hits a day, I am sure he is saving a LOT of bandwidth using compressed PNG. And an Uncompressed PNG is just as lossless and TIFF... and about the same size, in MB. |

I guess you could use Windows Paint, or get a 30 day trial of Photoshop or Fireworks MX and crop/resize all you want.

i'm 1280x1024 and i've got no problems with the zombie monkey one? i find 1024's look alright on my screen, maybe it's just me. this desktop is a 1024x768.. (and it ROCKS! my 2nd fave!!) there's other art kicking about.. in fact it'd be cool if jeph did some specifically art for use in wallpapers |

Slightly modified one of the wallpapers a) to fit my 1600x1200 resolution and b) for positioning and effect. Very similar to my site's background color/scheme: http://www.firekite.com/store/misc/pics/desktops/wants_your_coffee-1600x1200.gifNote that I have my Start Menu deliciously docked up against the left hand side of the screen (and auto-hidden), including a Desktop toolbar hidden against the bottom, which gives me instant access to my desktop items as well as my entire computer (including Control Panel, etc).
