Naturally I would hope that someone will explicate that most vile cancer of music, emo, providing examples and characteristics.

I don't suppose I have to mention the usual suspects - Creed, Nickelback, and Yellowcard.

The new Good Charlotte songs is just so odd and wrong. Graham Coxon has to be added, due to him being awful and Eric Clapton and Keane oh and The Finicki Duress Station Bandits

Gotta disagree with "everything in the top 20" and Keane.
Plenty of good music in the top 20 and Keane make some beautiful songs.
Exclude the top 20 and Franz Ferdinand, Keane, Scissor Sisters, Snow Patrol and numerous others become unlistenable. Don't be crazy yo! Or something.

There really is nothing wrong with Keane at all.  They're not to everyone's tastes, but which bands are?  Keane generally make beautiful music, they're just not appreciated by people in the mood for something with a bit more of a pulse (or a guitar!)

Not aiming this at anyone but I don't think it's right to simply name groups that you don't personally like - There are many bands out there who are universally known to be bad, i.e the person who brought up Busted / McFly was right.  Yes, some people do like them which can be argued against my point on Keane, however those people have rarely reached a pubescent age and subsequently aren't aware of their ignorance.

Eric Clapton? I totally WOULD listen to him.

O_O

And this thread is pointless anyway. If you like it, listen to it. You should care about any sort of 'indie cred."

The great thing about pretentious art emo is oh wait never mind.

A long time ago I ordered some stuff from Insound.  In the box with my order was some random Joan of Arc LP that they put in there by mistake.   I told them this and they said I could just keep it.  I sent it back.

Tool, A Perfect Circle.

Never have two bands been so over-rated by so many.

It's not precisely the music of Tool (it's somewhat the music of APC) it's the RIDICULOUS levels of worship and praise built up around them. People worship them as musical Gods, when, in all honesty, they're average. APC I think is rather shoddy, and a shameless cash-in. It is also deified by the music press.

Speaking of deification I REALLY dislike The Dillinger Escape Plan. That is all.

I totally agree with the tool comment, Khar. the Something Awful article called "Tool Sucks" pretty much goes over the ravings of their fans, and how overrated they are.

While the netherlands top 20 may consist of crappy trance and club music, I feel that the top 20 of America can not be just thrown away, I do like music on it, though some of it is a guilty pleasure. Lil Jon music is half-insane, and makes worthless music, but damnit, that crunk makes me want to dance.

Stupid topic since nobody EVER have the same taste. Avoid whatever you like but dont tell anyone else what to avoid. And sure as hell dont avoid any group without getting an opinion of your own.

Odd, I wouldn't have put you down as someone who would dislike KSE.

Not my cup of tea either, but I know some people who are pretty in to them.
