My new toy.
« on: 14 Jan 2005, 02:29 »

Yesterday I bought myself one brand new Seagull S6 left handed accoustic guitar for $399 sans electronics.  Of course, I currently know exactly fuck all about playing guitar but I've spent half the night practicing and I can already tell the neighbors are going to hate my new hobby.  I've never cared much for those bastards though so to hell with those tossers.

I wanted to buy a Martin or a Taylor but the truth is both were to expensive and several weeks of searching pawn shops didn't turn up a left handed guitar from one of those two brands.  I figure the Seagull will make a nice cheap learner guitar and a man can always use a spare guitar to take camping of what not so when I actually buy an expensive guitar I will still find uses for my new Cunuck built treasure.  Thank you to everyone here at QC who helped me narrow down the brands and help me find what I was looking for.  ;)

Not where I bought it but that link has a few nice pictures of the guitar.  It has a solid cedar top, roseword fretboard, and wild cherry body.  I would have liked a entirely solid rosewood guitar but at this price point that isn't likely.  Never the less the Seagull S6 has gotten excellent reviews in all the magazines and online review sites and it does sound good though the low end could use a bit of work.

I did get the seller to throw in a new set of strings though and that did help things a bit.
