Reminds me of his little hat smile. Also I MUST TRY SPEED BEER. I hope someone posts it in December so I can get all my classmates to do it, especially because it snows a lot in New Hampshire and well...exams.
I don't think it would ever work here. There's almost no snow in the winter and there are no hills to sled on if it does snow. Also, most of the beer sold in Oklahoma is low alcohol content, so everyone would lose the game by hypothermia rather than by passing out. Plus, I would need friends.  :psyduck:

So beer can't be sold above a certain ABV or is there just a higher tax on it?

Beer sold in most stores is limited by ABV to no more than 3.2%. Some liquor stores are allowed to get exceptions to that rule, but if they do, they're not allowed to refrigerate the beer. Oklahoma is weird, but it could be worse. Could be Pennsylvania...

Ah, but do they legally define "room temperature"? If you refrigerate the entire store, there may be a loophole.

So I read the actual law, and it says, "Provided, all alcoholic beverages are to be sold at ordinary room temperature." I'm guessing if you refrigerated the entire store, they could make an argument that your room's temperature isn't "ordinary."

edit -- To try to get this thread back on topic, I'm wondering what question Dora, Faye, and Penelope are trying to find an answer for in the first frame of this comic.

Look all the way over on the left: that "ph" is part of Jeph's Google Plus "greeting" line.

In a world with Anthro-PCs being part of society a magazine called "Applied Robotics" apparently doesn't mean the same as it would in our world…

Well, who (except for the British) wants to drink warm beer?

I'd guess it's an attempt to make stronger beer unable to be consumed immediately.

Yeah, no idea where this "warm beer" thing comes from. Not actively, mechanically, chilled sure. Not served over ice either. But stored underground in cold cellars for the most part, definitely.
Besides which, all cooling a beer does is stop the aromatic molecules from getting into your nose, destroying the true flavour.

Of course that's a problem for the recycled piss Budweiser corp. and Coors sell, as then you can tell what it was, so they naturally recommend chilling.

Now, you do have to understand that a lot of brewmasters here in the States had to do their crafting and brewing in caves and cellars, mostly because they didn't have castle-like structures here that they had in Europe. And beer does not keep well on transit, so it had to be cooled so it could be shipped outside the city - because not every city in America had a brewery.

<== Actually learned a few things the last time he took the Miller Brewery tour in Milwaukee.

Probably not - I have yet to taste a beer from the major American brewers that is worth drinking - the smaller craft brewers do an acceptable to an excellent job depending on your tastes.

Um no, not really! The US has air conditioning, like, everywhere. I was cold all the time I was inside in the USA. And then I went outside and melted. The UK is just typically roughly the same in and out, at least in temperate seasons.

Fun fact: the Skylon has a theoretical twin sister, in the form of a hypersonic commercial jet airliner, using similar tech to hybridise a regular jet and a scramjet. London to Sydney in five hours, crossing the pacific via the North Pole because there's none of that pesky "land" or worse "human habitation" to mess up with the sonic boom…
