Mar? Mar Mar
« on: 22 Sep 2013, 13:37 »

Hello.
I'm Mary from Dorset in England. Been lurking for a little while as suggested and finally decided to dip my toe in the posting waters. I've read through the archive a couple of times but my archive-fu is still a little under-developed.

I came here via girlswithslingshots, and only been reading webcomics at all for about a year. It's been eye-opening, as both Miss Corsetto and Mr Jacques have characters with sexual or psychological attributes I'd never come across in real life, and in some cases even knew existed - comics in newspapers just couldn't do that. Plus the commenting aspect where people share their experiences from all over the world to inform our collective reading is pretty exciting.

So hello, and I hope some of my comments bring new insights as yours all have done for me.

* Pilchard123 presents Mary with a ceramic lugwrench.

I'm not sure if it would be any good for undoing things though...

Çoğumuzun gözleri açıldı buradaki şüpheli içerikleri okuyarak. Geri bakmak istemiyorum.

Forumlara hoş geldin and don't be surprised to have more foreign posts incoming.

An in-joke I have no context for, but think perhaps shouldn't be carried too far...

As you might have gathered, this section is extremely multi-lingual. Don't worry, the epidemic is contained.

There's this really handy "other thing" I'm going to write as a footnote to my abstract that I can probably explore these issues in. I think I'll call it my "dissertation."

Barmy, the first couplea times I did it I'd been watching Starman on DVD.  It took on a life of it's own after that.

There's little point in trawling outside the Hi I'm New threads. If you use it as a search term, that's where you'll find it, and most of the uses will be attributed to Kugai. I never had any context for it either, even as I began warning newcomers to guard theirs. I'm out of touch with many of the cultural references in this forum, use Urban Dictionary often as I read, and still don't know the context for lug wrenches.
