Say, could somebody fix the titles on the last few WCDT threads? The New Year's Week thread only went to 2611, because Jeph skipped a day, so the threads since then both have titles that start one number later than they should. That is, the thread for New Year's Week should say "2609-2611" instaead of "2609-2612"; the thread for Jan 6-10 should say "2612-2616" instead of "2613-2617"; and the thread for Jan 13-17 should say "2617-2621" instead of "2618-2622".

Minor, I know, but it sets off my latent OCD tendencies...

Is there a reason why people are expecting the return of an old character?  Did Jeph say something about it?

Why was Bench Girl ignored completely? Something is very wrong here.

She may have stood up an introduced herself to Marten two seconds after Tai said she could make a giraffe.   Since there's been a fast-forward with a move indoors, we don't know how much happened between strips, including whether or not Marten accepted the weed.  Since nobody's got the bag in the indoor scene, Bench Girl probably got it back, which could've happened in the course of introductions.

Alternately....  So far we've seen her (1) filling the bag of high and (2) making a sad puppy face when it's taken out of her hand.  We haven't seen her eyes leave the bag of high to acknowledge the presence of the newcomers.  Possibly she was already so stoned that Delilah knew better than to try to involve her in a rational conversation, and she's going to spend the next hour or so sitting in the same spot and staring raptly at the hedge.

The volcano bags aren't latex, they're more like roasting bags (nylon I think). They aren't stretchy and wouldn't tie into balloon animals. Trying it would likely break the bag and result in a lot of sad stoners.

But could a balloon-animal-type balloon be attached to a Volcano?  Does the, um, vapor (guessing that's what you call what you get from a vaporizer) come out with enough pressure to inflate such a balloon?

I like Bob!    In a crowd like this one, bear-hugging everyone he meets would be totally normal and welcome...  Marty's reaction is hilarious.  It looks like the theme of this arc may be "Marten is immersed in an unfamiliar subculture."

I think that's probably just a perspective thing - Tai's in a monogamous relationship and she must have noticed by now that Dora is anxious and jealous enough that she'd not like someone else feeling up her girlfriend, so I'd suspect Tai wouldn't look so happy if it were occurring (she's had too much experience of drama not to be a little concerned). I'd have guessed she's happy because it's a familiar, fun environment that she's introducing a friend to.

I have friends with similar presentations to hers and all of them believe in modern medicine. Don't be so judgmental. Grooming habits don't actually affect intelligence.

Anyway, I'm glad we're in arcs that aren't about Dale or Marigold now. I'm enjoying this one so far.

It's done a fair bit around colleges.  Sort of a preppie-gone-wrong look.  THe pants are usually jeans. 

OK, more like preppie-discovered-mind altering substances-and-gave-up-on-preppie look. 

At least,that's how I saw it back in the 90's. 


Last time I played a game like that it involved a watermelon and my drink was a bottle of Stolichnaya.

Stump sounds like a fun game. You can play to win, play to lose, or just play the course, and have fun no matter what.

It will ruin the block for other purposes though. For example I would not want to chop firewood on a block that has been used  in a game - I appreciate the blade of my axe too much.
