An amazing actor, he was way too young. Anyone care to list their favorite PSH film? Mine's Capote.

Damn it.

Honestly I liked a lot of his movies, but especially The Savages and Pirate Radio. I was looking forward to seeing him in Mockingjay, although I have no idea if it's finished filming yet.

Damn indeed!

Pirate Radio is one of the very good things indeed & I thought he was great in it ...

So was I.

Apparently the first half is finished filming. I wonder what they're gonna do about the film now though.

He surprised me in "Pirate Radio", he captured the role well.
The first film I saw that I noticed him in was "Next Stop Wonderland" which showed his ability to make you love him or hate him without overplaying the role. It's a shame he won't be making more movies, he was a great actor.

That's the first I've heard anyone say anything car related. Everything I've heard has been heroin, yeah.

As soon as I heard about this I was worried it was suicide, accidental or otherwise.

Fucking horrible way to go, but accidental is worse - at least if it was deliberate, the person went out on their own terms.

Hoffman is one of the better actors of our time frame. It's hard to phrase it without hyperbole, but I've only really seen him play bit parts in movies, and even those are memorable. The kind of guy who would seize upon his screen time however big or small and just bleed every last morsel out of it.

The main thing I remember him for is playing the slimy journalist in Red Dragon, and having read the book he was a perfect casting for it.

I actually always thought if they made a film of one of my friend's life (not that they ever would), he'd be a good choice to play him.
