Dale seems like a kind of gentleman who would appear to a date suitably prepared to suit up.
Or maybe Marigold bought them.

Hey it's simpler than plugging in a USB cable.
I always fumble with USB cables :grumpypuss:
Well the proper procedure for inserting an USB cable is a 3 step process:
1. Try it one way up first. Realise that it doesn't fit.
2. Turn it upside down, and try again. Still doesn't fit.
3. Turn it back to the original position and try again. Now it fits!

Is it really a common thing that people have trouble putting them on? I've never heard of that before!
Bed sheets or condoms? :P
Well ... those are both pretty tricky, actually.

I'm inclined to believe Marigold. I'd go into more detail but this isn't the TMI thread.
TMI BOMBARDEMENT FROM SPACE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, USB cables are proof that space has at least four dimensions.

Thus this way of insertion is the correct and only way for connecting USB.  :meh:

  • Grammar is not half as important as clarity.

I know that way back when Faye and Sven first slept together, Jeph spent a few strips teasing/trolling readers who thought that a Faye pregnancy scare would be a good storyline. And good for him for dismissing such an obvious and overly-dramatic source of drama.

However...

Look at the way Marigold is carrying the sheets in panel 1. Does that not look like a dark blue maternity dress covering a baby bump?

FORESHADOWING!!!!!

Now, my wife is 5 months pregnant, so it might just be that I'm projecting big time. But I'm calling it right now, albeit 100-1 odds against, Marigold's knocked up.

If anybody is getting pregnant, it is Hanners (from sitting on the soiled bedsheets). It would be the ultimate immaculate conception. I suspect it does not fit in the storyline, but it would be fun to see Hanners try to cope with diapers, pooping, and vomiting.

Jeph already did a short arc about a Hannelore pregnancy scare. Can't find it in the archives at the moment, but I'm sure somebody here can post a link to it.

And that's probably as close to a pregnancy arc as we'll ever see in QC. Jeph categorically ruled out any babies in his comic.

Right, but wasn't the Hanners pregnancy scare the trolling I mentioned above? Which is to say, it wasn't really a pregnancy scare, it was Jeph fucking with us and Hanners being Hanners. I don't think Marigold and Dale will actually have a baby; I was just predicting some sort of fallout or anxiety to that effect. And again, this is all because, at a glance, Marigold in panel one totally looks pregnant.

It was easier to fold the original 8" floppies (and correspondingly harder to avoid kinking them).

That is not categorical evidence. Faye says, "Maybe someday." That being said, I don't think Jeph would ever do a pregnancy arc. Way too stereotypical.

Obviously there's a big difference between a baby and a 13 y/o, but the introduction of Sam as a semi-regular character was pretty jarring. I mean, she serves a very specific function - either comic relief in a situation of otherwise-nigh-unbearable awkwardness, as in the hiking arc, or to show the stark difference in attitude toward children exhibited by Faye and Dora - but it was still weird to see anyone younger than college age playing a real role in the strip.

So I'm half awake and near-sighted without my glasses eight now. As a result, I didn't actually see the condom wrappers my first time through and thought Marigold couldn't remember the last time she changed her sheets. The end product of that is that I got to enjoy the comic twice ^.^

Ah, for some reason, I don't get the newsposts on the bottom of the archives in my current browser. My apologies (also, does anyone know how to fix that?). However, I also remember Jeph saying that there would never be a wedding in the comic, and look how that turned out.

I have noticed they do not show up in Internet Explorer. You could define a custom CSS file that took care of this I imagine. It might be more trouble than it is worth though.

Simple. Everybody downloads into an AnthroPC body, and they all become immortal.

What I'm wondering is where they got the condoms. My best theory is they got them from Angus' reserve.

No way - after how fast she moved with Science Guy on the station, she probably had a bucket of them for the date with Dale. Dale may have had a fused four-year-old one in his wallet, but you can bet Marigold was prepared.

Well, another theory I have is that Momo maintains a reserve of those for Marigold. In that case, the conversation in which Momo told Marigold about it is hilarous to imagine.

Well yeah, and the fact that she LOOKS pregnant turns out to be because she's holding a sheet, not because she literally IS pregnant. That's why I called it foreshadowing.

In the case of Pintsize, knowing where he's been may be scarier than not knowing where he's been.
There are at least two aspects here:
  • Where he has been (geographically).
  • Where he has been (anatomically), or rather: What he has seen or touched.
Geographically, he isn't around much. Mostly because of his own physical limitations, but also because no-one dare to take him anywhere. He has been to Mexico by himself (here and here), and he has also managed to get down to CoD by himself. Otherwise, he mostly stays inside the apartment building.

Anatomically, it is another matter. All of it perverted and disgusting. He is interested in all things anal, and is on a quest to find all pornography on the internet. He also has a collection of porn accessories, as revealed in today's strip.
