First ever forum?
« on: 06 Jul 2014, 17:40 »

Topic pretty much says all, less reddit this is the first forum I've ever registered for.

Singaporean here, finishing off conscription and been on an archive binge about twice now.  Keep spotting and learning something new each time - especially after reading through the WCDT threads, lots of different perspectives there.

Hopefully I'll fit in and maybe contribute

For what it's worth, I've been here a decade and I still don't know what the fuck the lug wrench thing is about.

I can't remember my first forum. I think it might've been the official Funeral for a Friend forum. The band, that is. It wasn't a forum dedicated to that one (awesome) Elton John song.

My first forum was a Harry Potter fan community dedicated to Prof. Lupin. (Let Lupin Live, it was called.)

My first Forum was the original Anne McCaffrey site known as The Kitchen Table.  Joined that in the early 2000's and shifted with it when Anne closed down the original site ant AMCF was created.

All those floppy disks, and all I had was a Mac SE/30 and a modem that did 24.4k.

My first modem, 300 baud, cost $1/baud, in 1984.

I didn't own my own Compie until about TWO YEARS after I first got started Online in the early 2000's.  It lasted me until the middle of last year, so it did remarkable service.

Used to go Online either at the Library or at the big Blockbuster Video/Game/DVD store locally.  Grud that's going back.

My first forum was "Knights Social Club", a forum for a Team Fortress 2 server. It's where I met non-active forumite CrazyWelshy.

My first forum was for a local LAN community here in the Barossa. It was an imbalanced shitfight arena. Most of the non-mods defected and started our own forum, with blackjack and hookers. Ended up being just as unfair and cruel.
(So glad it's different here)
