MAY: "Why didn't you tell me? You told me Darth Pintsize betrayed and murdered my father."
HANNELORE: "Your father... was seduced by the Dark Side of the Force. He ceased to be Steve Austin and *became* Darth Pintsize. When that happened, the good man who was your father was destroyed. So what I told you was true... from a certain point of view."
MAY: "A certain point of view? Well, that's a load of dickbrooms."
HANNELORE: "May, you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view. Steve was a good friend. When I first knew him, he was already a great pilot. But I was amazed how strongly the Air Force was with him. I took it upon myself to train him as a cyborg. I thought that I could instruct him just as well as Rudi and Oscar. I was wrong."
MAY: "There is still good in him."
HANNELORE: "He's more machine now than man; twisted and evil."
MAY: "... Watch it, meatbag."

In that case, I will start off with something that is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.

Very good, sir. We have an excellent selection of ices. Will that be hydrogen ice, nitrogen ice, carbon dioxide ice, or methane ice?

Hi. I'm new to the forums. Was it ever made clear if the basket full of mice panel was real or a fantasy sequence? I'm assuming fantasy, but, you know, it is Emily we're talking about.

BTW, I would *love* it if Marten got together with Emily. I think she's crazy adorable.

After the last two comics, I'm pretty sure we can put the basket of mice in the "fantasy" bucket. Otherwise Marten would be angsting about that instead of the smooch on the cheek.

One of the charming things about the strip is that people completely ignore the bizarre (AI civil rights, cybernetic arms, supervillains, Pizza Girl) and obsess over the mundane. "Emily kissed me on the cheek! What? Oh, basket of mice? Yeah that happened -- AFTER SHE KISSED ME ON THE CHEEK!"

So, yeah, I think the basket of mice is fantasy, but....
