Long story short, Dora needs to be honest with Tai and trust her enough to confide in her.

Therein lies the problem, Dora has severe trust and control issues and isn't really someone that would open up to anyone. Any time she did open up, it's usually when she was kind of backed into a corner, usually because of her actions.
Which is one of the ways you n which I identify with Dora. I have pretty severe trust issues, although they manifest quite differently from hers. It takes a lot to get me to open up to anyone I'm dating. I do think I come by my trust issues honestly, though.

Dora, you're not supposed to hold those in.  It's bad for you.  You let them out.  You'll feel better after.

You can decide what I'm talking about. Pretty sure it applies either way.

If you try to hold in a fart, it will just build up and get worse. The gas doesn't magically disappear. The best you can hope for, is to delay the fart until you can get some privacy.

I agree it is nothing major, hiding is more drana-inducing than the subject itself. Secrets don't prevent drama, they only delay a and intensify it.

Am I the only one that see a similarity?

Yep. The longer you hold it in the bigger the explosion will be.

Seems much, if not all, of human interaction comes down to bodily functions either literally or figuratively.

I had to make an account to say that this a really contrived and ham-fisted way to force this drama. Can't anything ever just blow over in this comic?

I was about to say the same thing, in contrast to yesterday's. (Which I didn't care for at all.) (I should clarify I'm referring to the first two panels of today.)
Jeph's drawing style is one that I find admirable and awesome, but to me the devil is in the backgrounds and contrast. Now, this is partly biased since my phone adds a slight orange tint to everything which messes with my first impressions, but looking at today's versus yesterday's on my PC it's still apparent: Yesterday's comic had vaguely tan, white, black and red colors on a slightly orange-tan background. The background provided no contrast, it was in fact a mix of the colors on-screen blended together to look flat and provide little context.

In today's comic, you've got blues, greens, tans, browns, and a little red from Claire's hair. The background colors match the foreground like yesterday, but unlike yesterday the background doesn't feel like a color-palate mashup. Marten, wearing green and with pale skin, is wonderfully contrasted in front of brown doors, and Claire's red-blue palate is instead placed in front of greens and light tans, giving both characters a lovely background to contrast with their appearance.

And then the last two panels of today give a light background that very closely matches the character's skin, giving them a washed-out look just like yesterday.

I've got a love-hate relationship with the artwork, is what I'm saying.

Sort of an inevitable realization though. Maybe he'll finally start moving his life in a different direction, or perhaps he will accept his fate as an old library dude.

Once again Claire's attempt at humour falls flat.

I'd wonder if Claire hadn't been raiding Hannelore's closet at some point, as Hanners has worn a similar dress in the past.  But given her phobias there's no way Hannelore would loan someone her clothing.

I saw it as one.
The message I got wasn't "you'll never leave this place" but "I'm glad you'll be here forever" which would indeed be a little blush-worthy.

I certainly have.:

There's the recurring ugly green handbag too:

Claire's dress looks more like Faye's than Hanners' though. She looks nice in it.

Jeph does seem to fall back on the same clothing most of the time, usually being plain coloured t-shirts, SO MANY PLAIN COLOURED T-SHIRTS. Honestly it's something I have trouble with in my stuff too because I suck at fashion and I know it's easy to fall back on something that's easy to draw, I imagine this is doubly true if you have to get a comic out every day. What I do now is if I see a picture of an outfit or piece of clothing that looks like something I can use I save it to a folder for reference, it really helps.

So yeah it would be cool to see more variation, but I guess I understand it.

There's also the fact that plain coloured t-shirts are the most common clothing item among young adults. Is it really odd to see little variation? Personally, I only own about five outfits.

Did Marten and Claire start dating while I wasn't paying attention? Lets look at the evidence.

  • She doesn't want him to move away.
  • She's blushing.
  • Marten seems unsurprised by the sentiment.
  • They seem to be holding hands just off panel.

So when exactly did something happen between these two? If it didn't already, I think it is just about to.

I never really figured them for a match... although I know you all did.
