I would definately have to listen to that band.

Mr. Oysterhead:
The name of my super group will be The Moroccan Frog Experience. (Band name generator!)

Guitar 1: Larry LaLonde (Primus)
Guitar 2, Songwriter: Frank Zappa (Duh)
Guitar 3, Vocals: Trey Anastasio (Phish)
Bass, Songwriter, Vocals: Roger Waters (Pink Floyd)
Drums/Percussion: Stewart Copeland (The Police)
Percussion: Blue Man Group
Keys: John Medeski (MMW)
Sitar, Vocals: Gabby La La (Solo)
Cowbell: Eric Bloom (Blue Oyster Cult)

Mmm. The only thing I see getting annoying is Gabby La's vocals. Yeesh.

ImRonBurgundy?:
a nice, awesome rock n' roll band.

Guitar, Vocals: Ted Leo (Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, ex-Chisel)
Guitar, Keyboards, Trumpet, Back-Up Vocals: Adam Deibert (ex-The Aquabats!, Bikeride, Digital Unicorn, call sound call noise)
Bass: Joe Lally (Fugazi)
Drums: Chris Tsagakis (RxBandits)

they would be mostly a rock n' roll band, Ted and Adam would handle the bulk of the overall composition and lyrics, with help from Joe and Chris writing for their respective instruments.  occasional use of the trumpet to add jazz or Latin timbres, a la Colossal.  the band would be called... The Robber Barons?  The Saucy Buggers?  i dunno.  it would be a rather simple name starting with "The".

SuperRad:

Inlander:
From an identical question on another forum, here is my ultimate pop/rock supergroup:

--- Quote ---- Lead vocals: Levi Stubbs (from the Four Tops)

- Backing vocals: Chan Marshall (Cat Power; lovely voice, and I think she would compliment Mr. Stubbs quite nicely)

- Lead guitar: Buddy Holly

- Rhythm guitar: David Gavurin (the Sundays)

- Bass: Paul Simonon (the Clash; he gets the job on the strength of the bassline in "Rudy Can't Fail)

- Drums: Jim White (the Dirty Three)
--- End quote ---
