Your Computer
MrJoeBanglez:
Not sure how I did this, but I forgot a few things:
1) Desktop above runs WinXP and gentoo, and is named Kenshin
Work Notebook that I have full control over (can do whatever I want with):
Apple MacBook Pro 1.83GHz
2GB DDR2 667MHz
80G HD
OS X 10.4 / Win XP / gentoo Tri-Boot
Home Server (Magrathea):
FreeBSD 6
Dual 866MHz PIII
1GB PC133
500G storage (2x250GB)
sFTP, Webserver, silc server, BT client/server, naim client
Luke:
Okay! New chassis, and better pictures this time.
First, a couple shots of the setup. Please excuse all the snoopies.
Here's the mod:
And for extra cooling:
The CD drive is at the very bottom. The power button is right next to the power light, which is the transparent brick above the two black round bricks. Right above those is the floppy drive. The extra thing on top is just a little open-close case to hold a USB extension cord, which is plugged in in the back.
Finally, some extra shots:
You can see the modem card when the lid is up, along with the RAM banks. And yes, those are the only two PCI slots.
Here's a couple shots of the back. As you can see, I at least know enough to expose the fan exit.
StupidityKills:
I'm not a MAC person, although I do think they look nice. But my VAIO is sexier by far.
And that's pretty much my 'desk', I only ever really use it sat in bed/on the sofa/ in the garden, not really a fan of sitting upright at a desk.
It's big, but light:
Technically its a VGN- FS115B

I'm starting to find it a litle slow, but I do have a lot of junk on there I could get rid of.
edscoble:
Oh I love that viao! the design is very nice, keyboard pretty decent, brilliant laptop, tad heavy for me, since I'm already used to a 2.5kg 15inch laptop, yeah the design still quite sexy in itself., if your computer feel slow, all you just need is more RAM, try and get 2x 512mb stick (depend if you have 2x 256mb or 1x 512mb stick in your Viao, if 1x 512mb, then all you need is to get 1x 512mb.)

ah, a fellow Brits! way hey!
SpacemanSpiff:
Yes! Vaio FTW! I'm the proud owner of a Sony VAIO SZ1M/B. 13.3" goodness, weighing in at only 1.85kg.
The specs:
13.3" TFT x-black glossy 1280x800
1.85kg magnesium chassis
Core Duo 1.66ghz
1024mb RAM
Geforce GO 7400 128mb or Intel GMA950 (switchable at startup, either for maximum battery life or for gaming pleasure)
80gb harddisk
DVD-Writer
and a keyboard that sounds and feels just like those old IBM keyboards. Clickclickclick, yay!
And it looks awesome too. I'll take some pictures at some point.
