Show off your Cross Stitching!

The one on the left is a butterfly picture I'm making for my grandmother. It came in a kit.
The one on the right is an angel with a violin. I'm making it for my sister. The pattern is from one of my mom's old cross-stitching magazines.

Those are awesome! I love to cross stitch and I appreciate all the time that must be going into those!

Before my mom lost the feeling in her hands she used to cross stitch a lot. She also used to make her own dreamcatchers. She was a crafty woman.

I've never actually finished a cross-stitch. But I know how to do them! They're really fun. I always run out of string or lose interest or something, though.

when I was 8 or 9 I learned how to cross-stitch, by now I've probably forgotten everything but I think it's a pretty cool medium. I don't see myself picking it up anytime soon but I think there are some really cool things you can do with it. I think of it like pixel art for RL.

Hehe. Yeah. Those two up there? I've been working on them for *years*. I do some work on them for awhile, then something else gets my attention, and I set it aside for a few months, then I'll be cleaning or something and find it and pick it up again.
Run out of string? Just go down to a fabric/craft store (or Wal-Mart, they've got it too) and pick up some DMC. They're actually pretty cheap.

I bought a cross stitch kit for my parents yesterday, a cute sampler style thingy for their 25th wedding anniversary, pics to follow when there's some actual stitches done.
