ForteBass:
Not to mention Squidi vs.. well, everyone at some point. And even Jeph has mentioned having problems with people stealing his art.

--- Quote from: grrraham ---What the hell are you copyrighting them for?!
Does this really seem necessary to you?
Do you know how many legal battles there have been over the misuse of webcomic characters?
Neither do I, but if I had to guess I'd say the number was in the zero range.
Be more worried about making money with your characters than with other people making money with them.
Be more worried about making decent comics than with making money from them.
The internet has no respect for your pitiful copyrights anyway.
--- End quote ---
1. I don't want anyone stealing them.
2. Yes.
3. Very Few.
4. I want to make a decent webcomic without fear of someone taking the characters and making money from my work. I do it for the love, not the money.
5. I don't care what the internet thinks about my copyrights. Anyone steals my work, they feel my wrath. They need to do something original themselves.
6. Thank you for ignoring my question entirely.

Does anyone know of any websites or anything that would help me out with this? Or know any lawyers they could ask for advice? What did you guys do (if you make webcomics (duh))?

Cheers! That's exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. Further information on this website, too: http://whatiscopyright.org/.
By sending myself a copy of my work, it gets copyright proof, but to get it recognised as copyright by an official source, which costs money, gives a better stance in legal proceedings.
