You're getting a little confused, I think. Funkadelic were never plural, but Parliament evolved out of doo-wop group The Parliaments. Members of Funkadelic are properly referred to as the Funkateers.
You're correct, however, in that Funkadelic were the backing band for the Parliaments.
I'm off to see Janis Ian live in two weeks, new album and all. Also, the new Thea Gilmore album has been confirmed for August and Dave Randall's second album as Slovo will also be out soon. (PS - check out the link to hear the man who is reputedly Palestine's best rapper.)

I didn't follow the ad, but I believe it's a "Republicans for Voldemort" ad. You know, Voldemort like the evil dude from Harry Potter. It's supposed to be a joke. About Harry Potter. Because us Indie-Clickers like Harry Potter. It allows us to be fantastical and ironic at the same time.
