Motherboard CPU

Hey guys, long time no post eh?

Anywho, my computerhas a A7V400 MX Motherboard from Asus...but it's not on their website and the only thing about the CPU i can find in the book is how to takeout/replace it, and that it will not take anything less than 1 Ghz.

The CPU itself is a AMD Atholon XP+ with a Thoroughbred/Barton Core and it pulls a less than whopping 1.8 Ghz, I need however, atleast a 2.0 Ghz CPU

What CPU's can i put in it? or am i up a creek?

A7V400 MX is a Socket A mobo, so you'll need a socket A cpu.

Here is an Athlon XP 3200+ for $183

Runs 2.2 ghz. Should be what you need.

Keep in mind that if you have something with a sys requirement of 2gigs you need an athalon xp 2000, which probably runs 1.4-1.6ghz.

What kinda RAM you got in there?

I'd be thinking of overclocking. *Grin*

Pc2100 SDRAM 700 something, and apprently it's already overclocked because originally the processor was supposed to only go 1.5 and it's 1.8 now -Points upwards at post...- .....I guess i should have mentioned that...o_o; So...it's already overclocked?
