Hell no. There's some great stuff on there.
Storm Rider:
The Blaze Era certainly had its share of crap (Edge of Darkness, anyone?), but I genuinely consider it to be better than the last two albums before Bruce and Adrian left. Man on the Edge, kthanxbai.
And nothing's wrong with Dance of Death. Seriously, at least. Obviously it's not Piece of Mind, Number of the Beast or even Powerslave, but it's pretty solid.
But in terms of stuff for Jeph: What other bands should we recommend? I'm thinking maybe Atheist, especially since they might be recording new material. And Testament, but just because I <3 them like crazy.
Oh, and if you're looking for multilayered madness, Cynic's first and only album Focus is incredible.

Spiritual Beggars, Amotts other band, is vastly superior and has no scary ladies.

I saw them live when they came out here last November... very fucking cool. The video clip for Nemesis is great, too. \m/

Jeph, do yourself a favor and get anything by Astarte. That girl is a mediterranian demon with good looks and a hellish voice.

oh, and khar. if you have a chance, look up Vesperian Sorrow, I think you'd dig it.
