When I first heard The Sickness when I was an angsty teenager, I was convinced they had two singers.

KharBevNor:
I thought Cradle of Filth had two male singers at first, as well. Or at least, one of the guitarists would do those semi-spoken bits. This was probably not helped by the fact they got that creepy guy with a beard looking as if he was singing in the Her Ghost in the Fog vid. I wised up relatively quickly though.

Gomorragh:
ok where in hell did the term Melodeth come from?

ive like Carcass since 1991 and they were definately just deathmetal then.

For some real musicianship try either mercyful fate or king diamond, same singer, slightly different styles in playing.

i thought Arch Enemy was ok, just more like a death metal band who tried to copy maiden, early metallica, and manowar, and ended up bored with it after about the 3rd time i heard the album

also can anyone link me to the speed metal topic, i cant find the thing

Iwan:
Another metal thread? Where am I, Blabbermouth.net or what?

Actually, I like it that a band like Arch Enemy can get the approval of non-metal-heads.

Melodeth is just a term that was invented by the press. Same with nu-metal; bands like Biohazard and Rage Against The Machine used to be called cross-over metal and Korn played something called spookycore (hate the term too).

Two words to add to the whole "Master Musician" discussion. Neil. Young.

Kai:
I have never, ever, ever heard the term spookycore. I can, however, on the first time hearing it, be pretty sure that it's fucking retarded.
