Joseph:
Ok, I bought the album yesterday, and I've loved it so far. It's really just insanely great. My mind is indeed confident in the fact that Springsteen won't ever make a bad album, EVER!
Rizzo:
That's pretty confident man. Ever is a long time.
I rather like Ol' Brucey. Saw him live a few years ago, twas a fantastic show. He wouldn't play 'Born in the USA' cause it was just after the US invaded Iraq, which was a shame cause the crowd was gagging for it.
Anyway, the point of this post, this new album, is it quite upbeat? Cause I don't like Folk but I do like Bruce...
PrinceMyshkin:
Upbeat? Hell yeah. I agree with Dark Flame: the day Bruce comes out with a bad album is the day my name is Nancy*.
*Disclaimer: My name is not Nancy.
Rizzo:
Then I know what my dad's getting for his birthday... and briefly visiting my CD burner beforehand... :D
Joseph:
The reccordings are amazingly upbeat, which likely stems from the fact that every song on the album was preformed live in studio, on three seperate one day dates, as Bruce says in the liner notes. You can hear him calling out things he want's done at times, and the energy in general is amazing. Definately a lot different from most of Bruce's folk recordings, but then, those three albums were done solo, while this is done with a 12(!) person backing band.
