Some of you might have seen this already - 100+ three- to six-year-old Korean kids take on The Ramones.

P.S. I am the one in the top hat.

--- Quote from: pwhodges on 06 Dec 2011, 15:15 ---I'm not sure I enjoy this, but I can't avoid admiring it! Even for a theatre organist this is mighty virtuoso stuff (and it's actually a church organ being played!).
Cameron Carpenter plays Sleigh Ride
Note that for the greater part of this he is playing the tune with his right foot (only) while the left foot plays the bass, and his two hands are occupied with (often) three of the manuals (all four at once briefly at 0'30") and also buttons for the percussion.

Are those special shoes for this kind of playing? Amazing.
pwhodges:
I don't think the glitter on them is standard. Think the Liberace of the organ!
But organists do frequently have special shoes (Google organ-master shoes); they tend to be a bit like dancing shoes, as I understand it - they have suede soles and a somewhat built-up heel. This enables smooth sliding along the keys, and the player can also press down two non-adjacent pedals, as in the four-note chord he plays on the pedals at the end of that clip.

I'm always amazed at good drummers who can do so much independently with both hands and feet. But they aren't utilizing their fingers and typically don't have to move feet so wildly. That guy on the organ makes my Roland MC-808 look like a speak-n-spell.

A local band that I've talked about in my youtube thread, Musical Charis, has just made a really fun videos of their song East West. Water balloon mayhem and goldfish swimming in glass tubes, what could be better?
