Diana Ross - I'm Coming Out <-------- jokes about my sexuality ahoy!
--- End quote ---
Yeah, that's an incredible tune. Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards are legends.
Saw a funny interview with Nile about this song where he was saying that when they went to Studio 54 all the black queens were dressing up as Diana Ross... so they knew the market was there, but had to write the song in such a way that (conservative, Christian) Ross wouldn't flinch. She thought it was just this positive song about coming out of your shell. :)
He also said in the same interview that the chorus for Chic's 'Le Freak' started out as "aaaah FUCK OFF!" rather than "aaaah FREAK OUT!" Would've been quite a different song. :) :)

es anyone remember Maria Mena? She had a short lived pop-radio spurt with Chicago radio, at the least. She had the cutest song called You're the Only One. Definatly a favorite of mine. Then, as mentioned... anything 80's.

Men At Work - Land Down Under
Goo Goo Dolls - Slide
Natalie Imbruglia - Torn
Natalie Imbruglia - Smoke
Fuel - Shimmer
The Veronicas - 4ever (I know it's shit, but the chorus is so catchy!)
Christina Aguilera - Genie In A Bottle (I've heard an awesome DnB mashup of this song, actually)

How about "The Sun Always Shines On TV" by A-ha? I was actually listening to that while the eclipse was taking place in 1999.
