There seems to be a fair bit of excitement about this game, so I thought it deserved its own topic.

Obviously the Solid Snake thing is a big deal, because it means some other non-Nintendo characters could be in the game as well.

So, what are you looking forward to/hoping for? Characters? Stages? Items? Controller functionality? Online play?

Personally, I really hope they don't do like they did with Melee and make half the characters nearly identical to the first half. I would certainly like for there to be as many characters as there were in Melee, but I hope they make an effort to make every character different and interesting.

I hope the Fire Emblem guys come back, because I love the series, and Pit and Meta Knight look like they could be really cool too.

Actually, a Belmont character would be pretty badass too.

EDIT: And I'm personally getting pretty sick of Sonic. Sega really has run that franchise into the ground.

Pit looks like a cool character to play with.

Anyways, even though I never played MGS I still think it's awesome to find Snake there. I think Sonic would be a great addition; but they really shouldn't push the extra 3rdparty chars too far.

I reckon they'll make it work with the Wii controllers, but better to play with the old NGC controllers.

Ditch the extra chars; dr mario/pichu/...

This game will probably rock, just like SSBM. Fav char there was Fox, followed by Mario and Ness.

AND SAMUS IS HAWT LOL

Okay..this may get me assaulted..but fuck Snake. I haven't a clue why he may be in this,save for the occasional Gamecube exclusives.

Resident Evil has recently been a Nintendo exclusive. An appearance Jill or Leon would be tres' bien. Poo from Earthbound..Conker the Squirrel..the Sonic series has also become an exclusive..I can just imagine the announcer

Snake is in it because Kojima begged them, from what I can tell. They didn't go to him and ask for Snake, it was quite vice versa and they said 'why not?'

This looks so cool! I still haven't gotten all the secrets on SSBM, though, and I've had it for like 5 years. I unlocked a stage last night and it was actually the highlight of my weekend.

EDIT: I really hope they keep a few of the extra characters (especially Ganondorf) but that they just make them different instead of being slightly slower but more powerful versions of the character they're imitating.

My friends and I took a couple weeks this semester and did nothing but unlock everything in the game.

The only things we don't have on our save file are a few of the more ridiculously hard trophies.

I hope a SSBM save unlocks some awesome stuff in SSBB. At least some nifty trophies.

Super-Smash Bros. MADE LAN-parties. I'd bring my N64s and as many controllers as I could find to any computer-based LAN party I went to, and I'll be damned if more people didn't play SSMB with me.

Online would be cool, but half the point of Smash Bros is to trash talk the person sitting next to you. And it's better than trash talking in another fighting game, since you're a fucking pink blob.

Kirby was my first fav char way back to N64; I sucked in getting back on the platform and the flying was easy. Or the "bomb drops".

Though, actually, those clothes aren't the anime fanboy wank material. Iffin you haven't played Zero Mission, there's a part where her armor malfunctions and she's forced to infiltrate a space pirate vessel with nothing but a gun and that spandex suit.

The anime fanboy wank material in that game was a short tank top and very, very short pants.

I don't get why people would be upset at new characters. Sure, maybe you can think of someone that would be cooler or whatever, but new guys is still new guys, and from the looks of it, all the new characters look very fun to play.

I've been there (except I'm not gay) and it was very frightening. I thought I was a pretty hardcore competitor back in my day (this makes me feel so old) but these girls were really serious and excited about it, not to mention very drugged too. Hmm thats actually not too bad. I was the champ in my area until some punk friend of mine discoverd a "special" secret called the C-Stick. He then proceeded to think he was awesome and used it exclusively with Falco. I still beat him though

I dunno jhocking.. Jigglypuff isn't too good in a big brawl but in a one on one or if she stays out and uses her charge up roll thing she can be deadly. I think almost any character is good except Pichu and Jigglypuff just gets picked on for being annoying and associated with Poke`mon... Cheers, Marke

yoshi can be very very cheap in a brawl, all stomping, and firing eggs, but worst of all, is if he just keeps rolling back and forth in an egg, that does ludicrous amounts of damage

Jigglypuff does like no damage each attack, but the one killer move is that sleepy song. This guy could time that move so that, even if you see it coming a mile away, it always freakin puts you to sleep. Then while you're sleeping he'll just calmly walk over and beat the shit out of you.

I used Jigglypuff a lot for the single play adventure things, like the one where you face 3 gigantic characters (bowser, ganondorf and mewtwo?). Jiggly has this instakill move when timed VERY right.

Other than that I like Fox, although I don't really master him that well. Still get beaten now and then by my younger brother with Luigi.

Jigglypuff has always been one of my favorite characters. Stupid opponents always scoff when I choose him, but as soon as I start putting them to sleep and using the instant kill 'rest' move they start singing a different tune.

Seriously, that spin attack does damn good damage and throws you almost half the stage! Plus he can spawn bombs, and use that annoying drop attack where he stabs DIRECTLY INTO YOUR HEAD.

I hate Link in SSBM.

<3 Roy. I agree, used as a button masher, he's cheap, but if taken the time with, Roy can be a powerhouse. Master the timing and throw distance of his Sword's Dance, because it is AWESOME.

When every single character is labeled as cheap, none of them are cheap. My fave, Kirby, is frequently labeled as a cheap character. The only characters that aren't cheap are the ones that suck.
