well I decided to do a test on me HP laptop, got a 1.4 Centrino processor, it does the H.264 1080p movie smoothly, while in the 2GHz G5 it's lagged, that's pretty much tell you how bad it is that a 1.4GHz old Pentium M processor beaten it, even thought the FSB on the Pentium is lower.
JLM:
extra $200 over the white ones? It does have a larger hard drive (80GB vs. 60GB) and it's black...which is the new black.
I'd like to see more pre-installed in just about every computer. I still don't know why we haven't hit the point where 1GB is standard on all models yet.

Interesting. To me that would indicate one of two things: either h.264 is very integer-math heavy, which the G5 is terrible at and the Pentium-M is great at, or Apple's h.264 implementation is slow as hell.

an extra $200 doesn't jusified it, after I went to the American site, an 80GB upgrade from 60GB cost a mere $50 on the white 2Ghz.
