Eurovision 2006: Revenge of the Wuuurrrggghhh!

(1/3) > >>

Jedit:
Tonight is the final of the 51st Eurovision Song Contest, Europe's ongoing contribution to bad taste and kitsch.  Nothing particularly noteworthy as a rule, and even with a German C&W act this year wouldn't be much different... except for Finland, whose act this year is by far the most popular they've ever had.

Finland entered a death metal band this year.

And they've made it to the final.

So I anticipate KharBevNor and the other Friends of Wuuurrrggghhh! to be out there supporting Lordi and his song "Hard Rock Hallelujah" - particularly since he's survived not only a semi-final to get there but also a hefty pyrotechnics bill (footed by fans) and being injured at a recent gig.  But as a spokesman for Sony BMG said, "there was a back-up plan in case Lordi’s leg had been more seriously injured and required a cast – the singer could have performed in an exploding wheelchair, or with flame-throwing crutches."

What a trooper!

Trollstormur:
well... lordi isn't death metal by half. lordi is what you get when you take kiss to it's natural conclusion.

best of luck to him and his, I've personally looked at each of the other contestants, and they are all boring.

StupidityKills:
As soon as I saw that Finnish entry I knew they had to win. And I'm the least metal person ever. But they're great. A bit like if the Darkness were 10% less of a joke.
Englands entry however, makes me want to commit a cleansing hate crime against the singer, who is a stain upon our culture.

Edit: Yep. We're doing abismally. But ho hum.
And Finland is winning! Yay! :D

ASturge:
They're 30 points clear.

They CANT lose now. . . .

KharBevNor:
