Also, how did Quil(the guy who had spikey skin) get tattoos? Obviously he has some sort of extreme healing factor so that he doesn't die of shock/massive external trauma every time the spikes go out. Therefore how did a tattooist manage to get ink into him?

The badguys in this movie were a bit crap now I think of it.

Unfortunately, they have to resort to using real people to make live action movies.  This makes accurately depicting most comic characters rather tricky.

My guess is that Quil's spikes are kept in pockets or sheaths so he's not actually cutting himself everytime he uses it. Dunno, that sounds more reasonable then a healing factor >.>
