Awesome singing.
Valrus:
Jónsi Birgisson, from Sigur Rós. I don't think I really appreciated what this man does with his voice until I saw SR in concert. Fucking amazing, you almost forget it's not just another instrument (I know, the voice is an instrument, blah blah blah, you know what I mean) until you see those sounds actually coming from the guy's mouth.
Injektilo:
Um, let's be honest, Ronan Tynan is pretty schweet yams.
I fully second the Neko Case-ness, her voice is asounding. I've also been a long-time fan of Nick Drake. I think his voice is gorgeous, even on something as simple as "Pink Moon". The Futureheads have some playful vocal work, but it's nothing spectacular.[/code]
Inlander:
--- Quote from: Scandanavian War Machine ---the lead singer of Morphine has a really awesome voice. i think his name is mark or something. very deep and chill. its really cool

Mark Sandman. R.I.P.
My favourite singer is Levi Stubbs, of the Four Tops. Also Sam Cooke. Also Joe Williams.
The Hammered:
Maureen Tucker. I don't care if she only sings on two VU songs.
Most of the bands I listen to don't really have incredible singers. They generally work very well with the music they're singing, but I don't think they're really great most of the time.
Melodic:
No one's mentioned Gibbard? His voice sends me to a place where everyone is sad, and it's WONDERFUL.
