(i want to preface by saying honestly, i don't think i'm that well tuned into the modern music scene, so apologies if this band is so big that you've all heard of it already)

but wowww. his voice. the lyrics. i've only listened to two of their songs (young liars and mr. grieves) and i'm considering buying one of their EPs so...anyone have a suggestion?

Bum off to Epitonic; they have a few more songs there, so you can make up your own mind.

Man, I was kinda hoping this would be a throwback to radio theater.

There are 3 songs on betterpropaganda, including the one on epitonic.

I think they sound really damn average, so I'm confused as to why I love them so much.  Lousy x factor... ;)

I heard a tune off the new album called 'I Was Your Lover' on some MP3 blog,  and fuck, it's about the best thing I've heard this year.  Really incomparable.  Well, no, not really, but you have to do that annoying journo thing of going "If Prince and Tricky gave birth to a punk doo-wop bastard, with Disco Inferno as the milkman of uncertain culpability, then this would be the sound of their neighbours' (hep) cat".

Christ, sorry.  It is a good song, honestly. :(

TV on the radio?

Hockey announcers seem to think everyone has one. "And the Devils are skating left to right across your radio this period."

Did you see The Phantom? It is not something positive there.

I need to hear me some more TV On The Radio. Like, new album stuff, maybe. But what I've heard is pretty good. I'd suggest goin' for a full album rather than an EP.

I have Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes. It is excellent though I don't know if thats the best.

They're coming to play here. The problem is that for some reason they're opening for Nine Inch Nails. I don't want to see Nine Inch Nails but he jacks up the price. 50 dollars is a lot of money.

Nine Inch Nails might be a good band live. Sometimes I hate bands but they are really good live and that makes it okay. I suggest going maybe?

No you guys you don’t get it. All the good songs from Desperate Youth... are on the Young Liars ep plus a few more which are all better than anything off Desperate Youth. Plus an a cappella cover of Mr. Grieves, it's fucking incredible.

edit; Including Staring at the Sun.

Okay, the cover of Mr. Grieves is admittedly awesome. But I think you can probably find it on some mp3 blog somewhere. I guarantee it.

Actually, Peaches is opening on different day then TV on the Radio. If I had a choice, I would rather see Peaches on her own with the incredible Eagles of Death Metal opening. I'm not sure where those dates are, but certainly no where close enough for me.

TV on the Radio have one album out right now, Desperate Youth, and only "Staring at the Sun" appears on both that and the Young Liars EP. Other than that, they only have the single for "New Health Rock" and the forthcoming album. All get the thumbs up from me.

Hahha I have no idea how to feel about that.

On one hand...best. song. evar!  On the other....I don't know how I could possibly take their "real" music seriously.
