What I would kill for:
Johnny C:
I would kill for everyone taking a slightly flippant comment that I made less seriously.
P.S. Kai gets the point.

Do you think Dave Chappelle could do it? ^_-;

Here's a question. How come hip post-modernism gets as far as crap like viewing everything ironically, debunking the cult of the artist, embracing pop as a worthwhile artform and whatnot, but doesn't take the fundamental modernist/post-modernist idea that a text is independent of its author.

Possibly because we live in a Post Modern age. People in the Romanticism probably did not go "Hey, since one of the tenets of my age is the celebration of the nature, I'll go admire the land", similarly, most people do not take any interest in what post modernism actually is, they are just influenced by some of the surface aspects of it.

I don't even know if Oprah could.

Except by no means was all punk made by working class kids.

Well yeah, but that doesn't mean the aesthetic and culture aren't products of a working class perspective. We can assume there are exceptions but there are still basic trends and generalization we can make about music. I'm not saying "PUNK=WORKING CLASS" I'm saying there are definitely connections between the two.

The basic post-modern tenet is a multiplicity of perspectives. We can view the text as independent or we can consider the author. Both tell us things.
Anyways, LL Cool J was awesome and I don't care what anybody says. Maybe I unconsciously hate white people.
