What I would kill for:

<< < (2/14) > >>

borderline blues:
Is this going to start going into a debate about the whole 'did Elliot Smith really kill himself or was it Jennifer Chiba?"

Because that's like debating about any other God forsaken conspiracy that no one will ever know the answer to.

It's too late, he's cremated.

And back on topic. I say 'aye.'
Because I couldn't say I wouldn't kill for that.

nuisance:
Radiohead were basically being fanboys for the output of Warp Records, Skam, etc. around the time of 'Kid A', Thom saying he got back from tour and bought the entirety of Autechre's back catalogue.  There are many house / tech records that sound like the aesthetic of artists like Autechre grafted on to the house format.  Autechre themselves have done the odd house track.. sort of... I'm thinking of their remix of Various Artists.  IMO, it's fucking awful, but whatever.

I can recommend some things to try, if you're interested.  Mostly it's all instrumental, certainly no songs that sound like Radiohead.  But if you're thinking about the instrumentation / arrangements / production, maybe I can vaaaaguely help.

timehat:
At one point, I was hell-bent on hearing Alberto Radius' first solo album "Radius". Not only does it have Radius of Formula 3 fame (later to form the great Il Volo), but also has other future members of Il Volo, as well as Demetrio Stratos from Area and some guy from Premiata Forneria Marconi. It's an Italian Prog supergroup! I heard it, finally, and I wasn't very impressed. Oh well.

If there were such a thing as a one-off side project with Piggy from Voivod, Astor Piazzolla, and Chris Cutler, I might kill for that.

Oh please, let's not.

I would kill for a Wilco concept album.

Saying that, I'd kill for a collaboration between Bob Dylan and Wilco. Billy Bragg seemed to work, let's try the Bobster. Can you imagine him over their head-up-your-arse, laptop-feedback noise? It'd be amazing, and just the kind of thing I would expect Bob to do in 2006 to confound everyone. (except me, obviously, since I'm expecting it...)
