when i'm going out i occasionally hear some 'dance' (sorry, not good in the subcategory's for dance) version of 'o fortuna' from carl orff's carmina burana. of course i prefer the classical version but i liked that version a lot because it was quite dancable. i had no idea who made that version so after a it of googling i found this group, apotheosis. i downloaded their version of o fortuna and indeed i knew it. but it still wasn't the version i was looking for. do you know other versions of o fortuna or do you know if there are popular remixes of the apotheosis version? an answer would be appreciated.

(no, i can't go to the dj becuase the song is hardly ever played and there are about ten dj's there so most of them probably don't even know what i'm talking about. and tyhey'd probably just say apotheosis anyway)

Well, Apotheosis themselves have done about four or five different remixes of it.

'Love Never Dies' by Apoptygma Berzerk samples O Fortuna, as does 'No W' by Ministry, but I doubt either of those are what you mean. Apart from that, all the versions of O Fortuna I know aren't techno.

I think you probably want either the 7" or Live Action version of Apotheosis' tune.

i'm downloading some remixes of the apotheosis version right now and you were right about the Apoptygma Berzerk version.  oh well, if it's not one of the tracks that i'm currently downloading nor the version rubby suggested i guess i'll just have to do my best no thinking about it...(not one of my strongest points)

anyway, thanks both

Everything that song touches becomes a cliche.  Whenever I listen to that Apotheosis remix, I start giggling maniacally.

I thought that the heirs of Orff did not allow use of his music for sampling, mixing and re-doing?

I just remember that a version of O fortuna led to court and that led to the removal of the CD from stores. All because the heirs just wouldn't let the thing be used. Was a bit back, though ... but surely it's older than 50 years?
