Alex H.:
The Chemical Brothers originally called themselves The Dust Brothers, but ran into copyright problems with the original Dust Brothers. (Although they had no "The" prefix. They were just Dust Brothers.)

Praeserpium Machinarum:
Cocteau Twins(Old obscure Simple Minds song)
Norma Jean(does that count? Marilyn Monroe did sing did she not?)

KharBevNor:
13 Candles (From Bathory)
After Forever (From Black Sabbath)
Catastrophe Ballet (From Christian Death)
Cryptic Wintermoon (From Immortal. It's a conflation of 'Call of the Wintermoon' and 'Cryptic Winterstorms')
Devils Whorehouse (From The Misfits)
Dream Evil (From Dio)
Funeral Procession (From Grave Digger)
Halo of Flies (Both my band and the other are from Alice Cooper)
London After Midnight MAY have taken their name from the XII.Stoleti song, or the Wrathchild America song, though it's more likely they all took it seperately from the film.
Pagan Winter (From Darkthrone)
Saints in Hell (From Judas Priest)

All I can think of right now

Jedit:

I thought it was the other way round... the Dust Brothers (of Fight Club OST fame) were originally the Chemical Brothers.

As for Nirvana...

SpacemanSpiff:
Bullet Train To Vegas - (from a Drive Like Jehu song)
JR Ewing - (Well, yeah, obviously: Dallas!)
