It's called the Visible Human Project. I believe the guy was a prisoner on death row who agreed to be used in the project after his execution. CAT and MRI scans were also taken so that the images obtained through such scans could be compared directly to the cross-sectional slices of the human body which they image.

Yeah, I saw a thing on the discovery channel when they did a thing like that with a woman, and it was pretty boss.

I remember I went somewhere in junior highschool on a field trip where they had one of those, but it was a cow that had been cut up into slices and put between glass.
