The The - This is the Day

Best listened to if you haven't had any sleep the night before. Then it makes more sense.

Isis - So Did We

Is it just me or is there a melodica buried somewhere in the mix?

At the end, do you mean? I think it's just a guitar. That's what it is live, anyway. Some site mentioned accordions. Anyway, freaking awesome song.

Angelic Process- Crippled Healing.

Blissed out shoegaze/drone. IT IS GOOD BUY IT!!1

I'll send you my email in a few minutes, thanks.

I like what I heard on their myspace but I think I'll wait for their new album(early April as far as I know).

Bleubird - RIP U$A(the birdfleu)

A promo. Very Sage Francisesque I would say though you should keep in mind that I am a hiphop novice.
Can someone tell me why hiphop albums are always so goddamn long? all those interludes and skits clutter up and it is annoying.

Meshuggah - Rational Gaze

Tomas Haake simply makes me want to give up playing drums altogether. Especially after I've seen some of the tabs...
By the way, the new edition of Nothing is actually pretty good.

Low - July

Things We Lost In The Fire is absolutely incredible.  I've had it on my computer for a while, and listened to it a couple of times, but actually paying more attention to it now...  Wow...  I'm going to go pick it up within the next week for sure.

Whitetail sort of ruins the start of the album for me. It is just so languid. Or it would were it not for the absolute class of Sunflower. A strong contender to the best Low song along with (That's How You Sing) Amazing Grace.

!!! - Myth Takes

"That one foot groovalistic, that disco-sadistic, that one beat up and down it just won't do!"

I love this album

So far this is my favorite song on the new album.

Has a nice folky feel to it with some good vocals and just has a nice mood to it.

The Eagles- Wasted Time

Just remembering what good bass lines The Eagles had. I know they have a pretty bad reputation as typical classic rock radio fodder, but fuck, The Eagles can write a song. The melodies, the vocal harmonies, so good.

I used to hate Lazer Beam but I cant listen to the album without that song now.

Nick Drake - At the Chime of a City Clock

Bryter Layter has some amazing songs, but as an album I dont really like it as much as I do Pink Moon or Five Leaves Left.

Meshuggah - Nothing (the reissue version)

This is actually the first Meshugga album I have ever owned (but not the first one I've heard).  I have determined it to be definately worth the purchase; I should have listened to this band right off the bat instead of wasting time with A Life Once Lost before...

Yo La Tengo - Sugarcube

Picked up a couple of CDs (this one, "I Can Hear The Heart...", and the "I Will Beat Your Ass" one because the name amused me) based on how popular they seem to be 'round these parts and it certainly all sounds pretty impressive.

And I'm still waiting for a new Team Sleep album.

Iron and Wine - Cinder And Smoke

I think I said that Our Endless Numbered Days is my Frieday afternoon album. I love this song.

Brilliant song, that and "Naked As We Came" are the highlights of the CD IMO.

Double Leopards - A Hole is True

I was really excited about this one but it just doesn't grab me at all. Maybe I catched these drone-freaks on a bad day or something. I should have bought Halve Maen but instead I let my wallet rule. It is not the worst thing I have bought, that would be Charalambides - Unknown Spin which is basically an hour of moaning and someone screwing about with a guitar.

Mogwai - My Father, My King.  After seeing Tommy talk so highly about this track in a different thread, I decided to take a listen for myself.  I'd have to say this is the best Mogwai track I've heard yet, it's everything I had hoped it would turn out to be.

Slowdice - Souvlaki ("Alison")

I've actually never made it more than 2 songs into this album without falling asleep. I'm really not sure why, it certainly doesn't sound boring (quite enjoying it) and it's no more sleep-enducingly relaxing than say, My Bloody Valentine. I guess it's just 'cos I seem to choose to listen to it late at night or something.

Anyway, even though it's 6.30 am and I haven't slept yet, I'm determined to make it through this time.

Daedelus - Denies the Day's Demise

Think of whatever festival or uni campus or street in your town where you find people of all ages and ambitions and backgrounds going about their business without any issues or bitchyness. Think of all these people, the streets and the surroundings being happy and kinda hopeful. Express that through glitchy electronics and samples.

Big Neon Glitter - The Cult

Love goes down in history as one of my very fav albums, absolutely briliant

I spent a good chunk of my second year at uni listening to Love. It sounds bizarre as all hell but some of my fondest memories from the first semester at uni that year were walking home in the early evening after it had just rained and everything had that sparkly just-rained cleanness to it and Love was in my walkman.

Iron Maiden - Sign of the Cross

The best Maiden song of the 90's...

Feel the anxiety hold off the fear
Some of the doubt in the things you believe
Now that your faith will be put to the test
Nothing to do but await that is coming

Why then is god still protecting me
Even when I don't deserve it
Thought I am blessed with an inner strength
Some they would call it a penance

Why am I meant to face this alone
Asking the question time and again
Praying to god won't keep me alive
Inside my head feel the fear start to rise...

They'll be saying their prayers when the moment comes
There'll be penace to pay when it's judgement day
And the guilty'll be bleed when that moment comes
They'll be coming to claim, take your soul away

Slayer- Raining Blood

Trapped in purgatory
A lifeless object, alive
Awaiting reprisal
Death will be their acquisition

The sky is turning red
Return to power draws near
Fall into me, the sky's crimson tears
Abolish the rules made of stone

Pierced from below, souls of my treacherous past
Betrayed by many, now ornaments dripping above

Awaiting the hour of reprisal
Your time slips away

Raining blood
From a lacerated sky
Bleeding its horror
Creating my structure
Now I shall reign in blood!

Holy shit, this is my 666th post. Fuck I'm metal.

Samael - The Cross

This song is amazing, from the effect on Vorph's vocals to the guitar tone, everythings perfect. Some of the best lyrics I've heard.

Helvetia gloria still smile behind the shade of shame
cross your faith, join your hands tomorrow holds another day
Eldest to the one and I
harvest of love and light
dictated by war and hate
supported by those who hide

Samael are Swiss, hence the reference to Helvetia...
