Ecstasy Motherfucker - Kid606

I have been in a very electronic music mood lately. By lately I mean in the last 30 minutes. Kid606 is defiantly in my personal top 10 electronic/IDM/techno artists.

FREq - Strange Attractor

I think I'm probably the only person on earth who actually likes psytrance for casual listening purposes as opposed to drugged-up disco dancing. Oh well. Damn good cd this.

K606 kicks ass, and that's probably one of my favourite tunes. Been awhile since I've listened to the bugger actually, might have to get an album out later. You a fan of µ-Ziq at all?

Justin Broadrick's first band. He left HOD after the second album to concentrate on Godflesh. He's doing vocals and drums in this piece from Dustbowl. Fear Factory even covered this song on Demanufacture.
I've been looking everywhere for their stuff and I just found it. YAY SOULSEEK.

Angtoria - God has a plan for us all.

This is Sarah Jezebel Deva's band (you know ... that BIG lady that sings behind Cradle Of Filth (and a whole host of other bands)). Since I'm a CoF junky, let's face the ugly truth, I had to have this too. And I like it. Nothing like CoF, far more Gothicky. I'd recommend it to you if you like goticky things with a bunch of keyboards and some orchestral stuff thrown in. It works.

Plus, I was sort afraid that if I didn't buy it the frontlady of the band would come and beat me up.

Black Sabbath - Iron Man

"I AM IRON MAN!"

No your not...I am!..er... sorry u_u.

That was the first Black Sabbath song i'd heard, and hooked me straight into them.

I'm listening to Iron Maidens 'The Trooper'.

A great song for me; I recently found out that a cover i had under 'Children Of Bodom', was by another band, Sentenced... Damn the (most loveable and cutesy) internet; One persons mistake and failure to check propagates through thousands of people.
I never thought it was what i'd expect bodom to do in covering a song like that, but it was covered so well i thought they might have played more thrash like for that song...

^ If you haven't heard it already and can find it, you should try and track down a live cover that Dream Theater did of The Trooper with Brucie on vocals. Quite fantastic. I know it's floating around in the p2p wasteland somewhere because I accidentally downloaded it a couple of years ago.

I don't "get" Merzbow, by which I mean I can't listen to Merzbow without my brain informing me through exponentially increasing waves of pain that it really can't take much more of this shit. If I wanted to listen to horrible feedback I'd smash my guitar amp with a hammer and poke its innards with a fork.

I won't be a jerk about it but a Google search for "flac converter" threw this up:

http://www.riverpast.com/en/support/tutorials/convert/flac/index.php

There's also a Winamp plugin that makes it support .flac which is what I do because conversion is ++effort

Spazz - Spazz vs. Mother Nature

If you're into power violence, go check out this band, they were among those who started the whole thing. This song also has banjos, which only adds to the awesomeness.

Also, depending on the Merzbow album, it actually makes for good background ... er ... music, for the lack of a better term.

Have you heard Dillinger Escape Plan's cover of that on the Plagiarism EP? It's surprisingly good, coming from a die-hard fan of Massive Attack who can usually take or leave DEP. :)

Funnily enough the second time I listen to this CD through, I end up in this thread with the same song on. Plastikman -  Lasttrak. Kinda digging this whole minimal techno malarky.

Testament - Electric Crown (Live in London, 2005)

I'm pretty sure this is the best 14 dollars I've spent in a long time.

The best part about this song is that as soon as it was over, Skolnick just BLAZES into the intro from Sins of Omission. My face broke into the stupidest grin ever the first time I heard this while in my car.

Perfect Day - (The) Lou Reed.
About heroin, apparently. I don't do heroin. But I like the song, because it masks heroin dependency as a relationship dependency, and I dig that. Also, Trainspotting is an awesome film, and Lou Reed was hot for someone who's a bit of a transvestite. A bit like Billy Joe Armstrong, except an artist.

Upon This Tidal Wave Of Young Blood - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.
Wowsome song, especially the bit where he just repeats 'child stars' over and over and over again. And over.
Oh yeah, and

Endlessly - Muse.
I know they have a new album out, but I'm not really in the mood for political music. 'D rather listen to a good old I-love-you-but-you-don't-love-me self-pity song.

Cradle of Filth - All Hope in Eclipse

The only band I turn my audioscrobbler plugin off for, because every couple of months I just have to binge.

Gods this band is so fun! I still know the words to every single song they ever did before Damnation and a Day, which is when they got boring. I totally wish they were obscure so I could enjoy them as guilt-free pseudo-bm cheese, like I enjoy Cryptic Wintermoon and Illnath.

I just love Dani's approach to lyrics writing.

"A thousand nights once succoured Me
In the shadow of Miss Anne Thropy
Sat gargoyle-limbed amid My licking flame

A cruel tongue at work in Her secret vaults
Sent Rebellion's embers into revolt
The comming of extinction
Synched to whimpers of my name...

Legion I arose, a flood of inhumanity
An acid reign to purify the world
The Asp at Pharaoh's breast
The Atom split under duress
A sniper at the gates of spattered pearl

My heart, torn apart, left a rifled grave...
Save for an unfurled flag of hate
To enthral a mindless zombie race!"

Letting this kind of shit loose on impressionable young teens is the lyrical equivalent of killing an ant with a Bren gun.
