Indie-Klezmer-Albanian-whathaveyou group Beirut.  This is good stuff!  Here's their myspace page, so that you might sample their wares.  What do you think?

I'm listening to their album right now.  It's rather good, definately among the best this year.  Reminiscent of Neutral Milk Hotel, as has been said around teh itrawebs 10000 times over, but of course, no where near as good as In The Aeroplane Over the Sea.

Zach Condon (Beirut) doesn't just sound like Neutral Milk hotel.  He recorded with ex-Neutral Milk Hotel members.

I knew that, I just didn't feel like going more into the Neutral Milk Hotel comparisons.  They've been done to death.

I, for one, am sick about hearing about how amazing it is that this guy's only 19.  19 year olds are adults, fully capable of making a great album.[/url]

19 year olds are also generally incapable of the type of maturity needed to write a truly dynamic and interesting album; thus, it is pretty incredible.

Necroposting, because I just saw Zach and about 8 of his closest friends play Northsix last night.  For his age, he is easily one of the most talented performers that I have ever seen.  The degree to which he inspired his co-performers was incredible.  Ladies and gentlemen, I see greatness in this boy's future.

I have been in love with Beirut (And spreading it...) ever since I looked up their stuff when I saw a review on metacritic of their premiere release.

UK is getting all uppity about Arctic Monkeys being "so good" with one release, they should be pissing their pants at Beirut.

Wow, yeah, I just checked out that song on the myspace page. I'm impressed!

You can hear the Magnetic Fields influence pretty strongly too.
