I still didn't know about Hurt until Cash covered it. Let's just say my biggest dip into pop culture at that point was MC Hammer. And, that was only because he did the Addams Family theme to the second movie.
Yes, I was completely hopeless until I got into Barenaked Ladies. And then, and only then, did I start to realize most pop was utter shit. (I will still defend BNL's older stuff till the day I die.)
That said, Peaches fucking rocks. She's such a major feminist icon and really doesn't get the credit she deserves. I mean Sofia FREAKING Copela had a Peaches song in Lost in Translation. Sure, it was in a strip club, but where else you going to hear the lyrics "sucking on my titties" in Japan?

Well sure, if you want to get existential about it. I'm saying that, even if it has something to do with the discussion, pointing out that you don't find girls of a particular ethnicity attractive is pretty tacky, at the very least.
