Best news I've heard in a long time
Merkava:
What I think the Simpsons is suffering from now is the fact that the characters have become shallow. All they are are vessels for unwitty one-liners. They a lot of times break character just to get across the joke. It fails. All the time.
I hope Futurama won't end up like this. As long as the characters stay individuals and act like themselves, I think the show should be fine.
Cartilage Head:
The main problem with Family Guy is it's absolute desperation to be funny..there is some very funny stuff on there at times..but most jokes are either overused running-jokes or "parodies" that really aren't funny at all.
I actually think Futurama had a lot of character development for a comedy
series. Sure,a few of the supporting characters get a little old "LOL ZOIDBERG IS POOR HERMES IS A DICK LOL",but think about it..it does a
hell of a lot better of a job than most "comedy" shows.
chupones:
That's now THREE shows by Fox that have been resurrected. This gives a Firefly (and Futurama) fan more hope.
thehoopiestfrood:
I dunno if Firefly could be brought back after Serenity. They kind of ended a load of storylines pretty finally, and missed out a load of stuff which probably should have gone before them and would have, if they had had a few more series to tell the story over but can't really be told now what with people dying and whatnot. (I'm trying not to spoil things for anyone who hasn't seen Firefly or Serenity yet.)
To me, Serenity is to Firefly what the Peacekeeper Wars were to Farscape, a way to finish things off as best as they could, even if it wasn't how they would have liked it to be done.

I don't think that they would resurrect the series, given that most of the actors have moved on to different series or guest-starring roles. But, perhaps Universal will look into a mini-series or a television movie or two on the Sci-Fi channel. I'll admit that it's wishful thinking.
